Unfortunately, Bale has a history of being injured - great player when he’s fit, but if that’s not much more than 50% of the season, he might not be the game changer Spurs fans are hoping for.

^ Cracking investment so far, out until the end of October with a knee injury, so what's that £2.4 million in wages before a ball's kicked in anger......

Also, guessing not too many happy Man United supporters out there tonight..... Oh dear.

Ugh, watching tottenham is painful at the minute. 1st half just finished. Think Southampton must have had 8 or 9 shots. Goal. Disallowed goal. Hit the post. Dominated possession.

We were good for 3 or 4 minutes then absent until the 48th minute when we got our first shot away. A goal but... christ we look bad.

Southampton 1 - 4 Spurs (78 mins)

Oh ye of little faith! :tsk:

4 goals by Son, 4 assists by Kane.

Mourinho's half-time talk "Oh well, at least we'll have a decent winger available soon..."

EDIT: 81 mins - 1-5 goal by Kane
This is the way

Just shows it doesn't matter how bad the rest of the team is playing (and they were bad) when you have 2 of the best players in the world on the pitch, you've always got a chance.

Once Bale is on the pitch we can boast the best front three in the world. Happy days but... midfield was shocking throughout, Lo Celso the only one offering anything. Defence is always gonna be a problem with Dier at the back. Once again caught napping for the first goal. A better team would have killed us off in the first half.

Thank fkc for Kane and Son!

A snippet of an article which pretty much sums up the game

If you cost £90 million, you're expected to hit the ground running. That Havertz better do something soon.

For those remaining doubters of Harry Kane's ability, I can't remember the last time I saw a player get 4 assists of this nature in the same game. The first couple were good... number 3 and 4 were world class.

I'd love something other than Tottenham stuff to be in this thread. It's just bloomin' Tottenham all the time at minute. (I admit I may or may not be a contributing factor)

Know we've got Chelsea here. United. Crystal Palace is about. Arsenal. Definitely a scouser here too somewhere. Newcastle (wasn't that yourself, Pete? ).

Not me. Bamboo has influenced me and following Arsenal this season. :D The advantage of being from across the pond we have no hometown allegiance to any team. Can change as the spirit moves us. :thumb:

Only 0530 here so am sure some comments coming as the day breaks.

.... weren't you Fulham after Newcastle but before Arsenal? 8)

Happy days though! Arsenal offers loads of convo. I mean... why do they have someone on £300k+ a week that rarely makes the bench. What secrets does Ozil have on Arsenal to command that free pass?

Ozil hasn't been on the pitch for ages. Last known sighting of him (pictured below) he was waiting for a kebab in Islington.
