Current flight data from 5 minutes ago is unbelievable looking at Italy and Spain. I fear the UK and rest of Europe may be doing too little too late.

Lockdown in the UK:
Boris Johnson has announced a complete lockdown of the UK, banning people from leaving their homes or meeting in groups of more than two people as the Government scrambles to enforce social distancing measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
In a public address to the nation this evening, the Prime Minister said the public will not be allowed to leave their homes except for a few specific reasons, and could be fined £30 for meeting outside in groups of more than two people.
All non-essential shops will close, as will outdoor gyms, kiosks and places of worship, except for funerals.
The unprecedented measures were prompted by fears in Downing Street that its coronavirus suppression measures have been ignored by the public, and modelling that suggests at least three quarters of people must follow them for the NHS to be kept afloat.
Under the new lockdown, members of the public must not leave their house except to :
Shop for essentials, as infrequently as possible
Exercise outdoors once per day, alone or with household members
Receive medical treatment or provide care
Travel to and from work if impossible to work from home
Read below for more details from the Prime Minister’s public address.
Police have been given emergency powers.
2 people together will be dispersed.

We’ll stop all social events, including weddings, baptisms and other ceremonies, but excluding funerals.
That's very nice of him!

I find it amazing thazt there is only 1 official death from the virus, me thinks the Government
is fibbing a lot on this stat. I just read that the UK is limiting their people to a crxowd of 2, and yet
seeing the pictures of people in Bangkok at the MuChit BTS station a huge crowd leaving for up
country. What a difference. Totally Amazing Thailand.

Boris Johnson orders the most draconian lock-down in British peace or war time history.

Things are eerie in London this evening. Apocalypse style.
A long-term avid 'doomsdayer', I'd like to gloat that I'm enjoying all this.
I'm not.

Bloke walkin' down the street with wheelbarrow in E16.
"Bring out your dead!" Rag'n bone man behind him.
We've successfully discovered time travel.

The majority of food and other essentials are flown in, so I doubt that many of those planes are full of passengers!!

Worse than that. Only a crowd of ONE is allowed unless the other person is a member of the same household.

Although health is by far the biggest concern with this pandemic, it will be interesting to see whether all of these curtailments will have an impact on the level of crime?

Burglers will have a tough time. No empty houses. Everybody's home.

Given the seriousness of the situation (I know I began it this time - us Brits make light of dark times) let's keep this thread for the serious news.
My apologies.
