Amazing stuff. And for all those soccer fans out there, how much more exciting than the huge yawn that was England 3 - Estonia 0?

"How an Aussie should always greet an Englishman..."

I don't know if you guys in Hua Hin get the same commentary as we do here in the UK, but did anybody catch the bit about Johnny Wilkinson's poor kicking in the First Half?

When England were awarded their first penalty in the second half, Johnny Wilkinson was handed a ball by the ball boy. When he examined it, he complained because it was not a standard match ball, and had it replaced by an official ball (they were clearly marked to avoid any chance of cheating).

- How did a non-standard ball get in to the game?

- Every team fears the JW boot. Was cheating their answer to it? It certainly worked in the first half.

- How many other times did France cheat against other teams with the same underhand trick?

We probably won't hear any more about it because the side that didn't have to cheat won through in the end. However, I don't believe they should let it lie there - cheating is cheating. If France had been caught cheating at something like athletics, they'd have had their medals taken away (if they had any), and would be banned for life. Shouldn't they be looking at least at an enquiry with the result being possible banning from future international events?

Unlucky France, you couldn't even win by cheating :guns:

Edit: Just listening to Sky Sports news, they've picked up on this cheating, and are asking questions - however, the England backroom team are trying to play it down. They have said that they will be more vigilant in future :?

Woke up at 2:50 Brunei time to watch the match and was afraid to leave my seat for the entire game in case I missed anything.

OK, so it wasn't flowing stuff and, to be honest, we were outplayed for much of the match, but it was one of the most compelling games I've seen in a long while.

The backs must be due a big game soon - do we dare to dream??? Back to back champions????

Interesting point about the ball as well - we'll see if that gets any coverage in the next few days.

Have you heard the latest from France? Because their cheating didn't work, the French nation have declared strike action to prevent people getting to the final.

Come on England. We have beaten australia and france, surely the bocks cant be any problem?? Good luck to Jonny boy, may your boot be true, and Billy whizz be as fast as the wind. May the forwards grind out the yards and be bloodied and true. Come on you England boys, fight and earn your place among the greats.
I will be in Crawfords to watch the spectacle, and holy god prey we win and retain the WORLD CUP.... :D
