Jeez guys, lets get real. It has been a great campaign and the boy's done good! :thumb:

Can we leave it at that - do we really need to try to apportion blame and all that!

(Cap'n Marvellous) Terry and others have all said, (words to the effect of), good job done so far, but we have to keep on improving, theres a lot of work to do yet.

Thats the right attitude!

I think the quality of ITV's coverage and commentary is well short of the standard expected. Both Heskey and Johnson suffered from their vacuous pretty boys. All that was missing was Andy Gray.... :guns:

Just the beeb and Sky (minus AG) in future please.

What should he have done, given Eduardo a free header?
no, do what all good defenders do, get on the right side of the man!!
My point, in this thread, wasn't about Johnson or any other England player, it was the absolute drivel the English press make up and perpetuate.
We annihalated a good side yet they still have to have a dig.

That particular incident somebody should be on the inside anyway if we're getting anal about it. I'm referring to the jump on the bandwagon hacks, not you RZR.

I hope so, he couldn't ask for two better coaches in that respect.
redzonerocker wrote:cashley cole is pretty similar too, not ideal when you're gonna be facing some of the best in the business, as they will in south africa :|
Cole may have been similar a few year's ago but I'd put him up with the best in the world now. I can't think of a better Leftback than him or Evra.

like i said before, johnson is great going forward but his defending does need some working on.
I read that a few days ago, and deliberately watched for it yesterday. I have to agree (based on that 1 performance only) he was great going forward, but did look vulnerable when defending.
Championship Plymouth Argyle 1 - 2 Leeds Utd

Points 46; Position 23 RELEGATED

Its an issue when playing someone like Lennon in front of him, who incidentally had his best ever game in an England shirt yesterday.

A whole season and a training camp of several weeks, two more qualifying games and several friendlies will hopefully resolve these issues.

That's what I'm saying BB, when the press start this witch hunt every little mistake gets highlighted but maybe wouldn't with Cole on the other side.

***** keeper flaps at crosses is another one.

Another pearl of wisdom last night, I think it was from Jim Beglin "Steven Gerrard is only in the side, on the left, because Joe Cole got injured"

I suppose Fwank could be shifted to the bench to make way for Gerrard. :naughty:

Nothing, Glen Johnson's flavour of the month!

The Lampard-Gerrard debate has been put to bed so he's off the hook for now.

John "I assault doormen and piss on nightclub floors" Terry might have had a word with gerrard, with him being captain and everything.

Heh-heh!

And of course, they were both innocent and both incidents were on film for all to see! Although JT was but a boy at the time (extra excuse).

Guys,

Can we get this topic back on track, and talk about World Cup Football please?

Don't worry, the gutter press will be dishing plenty of dirt on the English players, which you can discuss in FOO from about May next year.
