Re: UHT Vana Nava Hua Hin City FC 2015
A quick re-cap of the facts we know so far:
New sponsors/backers arrived at TOT Thursday ordering the dismissal of the coaching staff.
Khaikaew and his coaching staff were announced as taking up the position Friday.
KK + staff were there to take charge of last night's match and were there along with Magnus/Marcus + Bik Dam.
Khaikaew will take charge of the Hua Hin team today.
Let's hope, as I'm sure they will be, things are made much clearer in the coming days.
In the meantime, hopefully the team can stay focused on the job in hand and bring back 3 points today!

Looks like a mess but lets see what the feature bring, must amid I only follow HH so don't know if any of our players have the quality to play in Thai PL.
Can't go today, so have a good game, and a safe trip with a good party on the way home because we won

No such worries with the Hua Hin City supporter's bus. The driver proved that the wheels stay on with 6 wheel nuts missing last week. So we knew that we'd be fine when the same bus turned up this morning.

GLOBLEX TWD FC. 2 - 2 VANA NAVA HUAHIN CITY
Another away trip on the bus from hell, so another late report. I've an early hospital appointment in the morning, so I'll keep it brief.
On paper this should have been an easy win, and Hua Hin were leaps and bounds ahead of their hosts in terms of footballing skill. However, Globlex parked the bus, and Hua Hin did their very best to throw the game away.
Globlex's first goal has been on the cards for weeks. Too cocky, too much faffing about about at the back. A swift interception - 1 - 0 Globlex.
Globlex's second was even worse. Hua Hin won a free kick well inside the opposition's half. Pushing for an equaliser, Hua Hin had 10 men in the opposition's half - 8 players in the box waiting for the cross. Rather than the expected big boot cross, it was a weak attempt at a pass backwards (still in the opposition's half). A swift interception by a very fast Globlex player, who had a couple of yards extra pace in the race for the Hua Hin net. The second bit of faffing about at the back had cost us a second goal.
I was resigned to an embarrassing defeat, but a brilliant solo run by Andre, followed by a shot/cross saw the ball fall at his brother's feet for a simple tap in. I was so deflated (you could have called me Small Boy), I could barely muster a clap.
The equaliser came in the last minute with a perfectly positioned free kick by Lucas to secure his second of the afternoon.
The game was spoilt somewhat by Globlex's acting and acrobatics (I'm sure we had our sniper with us again), but we scraped a point. However, this was definitely 2 points lost, not a point won.
Next Sunday we are at home to Nontaburi (the team who knocked us out of the FA Cup a few weeks ago). The venue is Fort Thanarat, Kick Off 16:00.

i thought the first 45 mins was the worst football i had ever seen , and as bb said both of globex goal came from school boy errors , when the 2nd went in i looked at our players and there body language was like they were dead and burried
so you have to give them credit for picking themselves up and fighting their way back to salvage a point ,but still it was 2 points lost

Re: UHT Vana Nava Hua Hin City FC 2015
It is not often that I can't put a positive spin on a football match but after yesterdays game against lowly Globlex FC I am really struggling. About the best I can say is we managed to salvage an undeserved point after coming back from a 2 - 0 deficeit and we battled hard in the last 20 minutes or so to achieve the final 2 - 2 scoreline. Other than that Hua Hin were dreadful.
Apisit Khaikaew, the head coach, has recieved many plaudits since his arrival and rightly so. He has transformed the club and team in terms of personnel and professionalism both on and off the pitch, in training and in matches. Yesterday however, in my opinion, the majority of the blame for an abysmal performance falls at his door. I was worried even before kick off by his team selection, it smacked of a "game for the boys" selection. Kanchit is a nice guy, he's club captain, a great ambassador, a squad player but nothing more. There is no way he should be commanding a place in a starting 11 with the squad of players we currently have. Our new midfield player Natthapong Kamaksorn (no. 34) who was superb last week and added the steel and experience that we have long been lacking in midfield was dropped to the bench. In fact the bench looked stronger than the starting team. This was a game that we should having been going out to batter Globlex and to do it we should have had our strongest and most attacking starting eleven on the pitch. We didn't.
After such a brilliant performance and result last week away against league leaders Samut Sakhon and with second placed Seemok droppping points both last Sunday and on Saturday, yesterday was the day to really capitalise, get a win and move into 2nd place and a Champions league spot. No chances should have been taken.
The Hua Hin supporters should have been sitting in the stands with abacuses to keep track of the score. If only. The first half was very disjointed. They team appeared to be playing without a system or plan. It was almost like watching a team of strangers who had never met or played with each other before. The midfield was particularly poor, they had no shape or cohesion. Many times instead of them playing as a unit across the middle of the field they played in a line up and down the middle of the pitch. No one seem to have a clue where they were playing or what they were supposed to do. Lucas was particularly poor. Normally he is guaranteed to be wide left and create from there. He either goes wide down the line or cuts inside. For much of the first half he wasn't even in that position. He was upfront, wide right, central midfield and totally out of the game. Surasak Wongchai (No. 24) played the majority of the first half just in front of Valery and Da and because of the lack of team shape rarely had an attacking outlet. Michael Byrne was also out of position quite a lot, often standing at centre forward. I just don't understand what was going on. At times with the ball with our back four we had five players right up against their back four and virtually no one in midfield.
Up front Watcharapong (No. 38) was a lone striker and very isolated much of the time. He worked hard but didn't have a great game. Too many times he was let down by a poor first touch and he needed that to be good to allow the midfield to support him. Gionata (No.32) didn't contribute much but did have a couple of one on one chances in the box from through balls which he should have done better with.
With half time approaching the coach decided to make a substition and a very strange one it was too. Big Valery Hiek (No. 4) being replaced by Andre. I could not fathom this out. The only reason I could think of at the time for doing this was Valery had an injury but that didn't appear to be so. By all means take off a defender to put on an attacker but the man off should have been Kanchit.
All became clear after the game when talking to Anucha. I think most of us were under the impression that Thai teams are allowed to play four foreigners on the pitch at the same time. This is only partly true. Teams are permitted to play only three non asian foreigners and one asian foreigner at the same time. This explained the substitution. For Andre to come on either Valery, Michael Byrne or Lucas had to come off. Valery was the sacrifice.
This substitution so early in the game justifies to me that the coach had realised he had picked the wrong team and was trying to correct things.
We reached half time with the score 0 - 0 but with hopes that the change would spur us into life in the second half. This proved not to be the case and the second half continued in similar vain to the first, in fact it got worse. Ten minutes in a long ball over the top left Da and one of the Globlex strikers chasing the ball to the edge of our box. Da looked to have done enough to make the clearance but not once, not twice but three times tried to play football instead of getting rid of the ball before losing it and their striker sticking it in the back of the net. A dreadful series of errors.
Things could not get worse, but they did. With Hua Hin now chasing the game they got a free kick midway into the Globlex half. With all but two of the Hua Hin players in the opposition box Choi (No.1), who was on as a sub for Michael Byrne, decided to play the kick down the line. The ball was intercepted and immediately played long into the Hua Hin half. The Globlex striker outstripped Athit Wisetslip (No.2) for pace and charged into the box to finish well.
2 - 0, game over, or so we thought.
Hua Hin continued to push for a goal but still without playing well. The team had a look of desperation about it. Eventually a long ball forward down the line by full back Dusit (No. 33) was collected by Andre who made a great run into the box before shooting. His shot was parried by the Globlex keeper only for his brother, Lucas, to slot home the rebound.
Although Hua Hin were trying hard for an equaliser time was running out. With Globlex wasting time and stopping play at every opportunity we were deep into added time with the score unchanged. Globlex gave away another needless free kick on the edge of their box with only seconds remaining. Up stepped Lucas who slotted a great strike into the far bottom corner of the net. The game restarted and the final whistle blew. For the second week running we had been treated to last minute drama and both instances going in our favour. Although the goal just got us a point the celebrations of the supporters were equally vociferous as last week but more out of relief than achievement.
A word of praise for No 2. Athit Wisetslip, who was again our man of the match, goal keeper Annop who did little wrong and didn't have much chance with either goal and big Valery who looked solid before his early departure. As for the rest, poor at best. Lucas and Andre sparked late on to get us a result but their overall contribution to the game was poor.
I hope this game was a one off but why did things go so badly wrong. Personally I think it was for a number of reasons.
1. Complacency, everyone thought the game was a formality and the points were in the bag before we had even kicked off.
2. The coach selected the wrong team and the game plan was flawed.
With the squad of players Hua Hin now have they should not fear anyone. However too often they are set up in a way that gives the opposition far to much respect. Today the objective should have been to firstly win and secondly score as many goals as they possibly could. Todays team selection was not a goal scoring one. One striker, who is still settling in, against a team fourth bottom of the league, far too cautious.
3. The events at the back end of the week must have been unsettling and because of his involvement the coach was not at training for the majority of last week to prepare the team. Normally at training you can see what the likely team will be for an upcoming game two or three days prior to match day. They practice together and play together. That was not apparent last week.
Next week is another difficult game. I have already heard people talk about it being an easy game and the 3 points already being in the bag. Nonthaburi picked up towards the end of the first half of the season, drew with us in the cup a few weeks ago and only just got beat by Samut Sakhon at the weekend after taking the lead. There are no easy games between now and the end of the season as the pressure is on.
We are fortunate that the other results generally went for us at the weekend and we got lucky. Had circumstances been different we could have been sitting as low as fifth today with only an outside chance of a champions league spot finish. Let that be the warning.

I've though about this goal a lot. Athit is no slouch, and for the Globlex player to outpace him by such a large margin was fantastic, and deserves recognition. Yes, the goal was self inflicted, but it wasn't an easy goal for Globlex by any means - definitely goal of the match for me.Geordie Dancer wrote:The ball was intercepted and immediately played long into the Hua Hin half. The new stadium, 23 weeks on:
20 July 2015 - Some major change this week:
1. In the first segment, there are curbs being put in at the back of the East Stand.
2. In the second segment, we see the first of the 2 goals being put together.
3. As shown on the official video, we have grass. Most of the turf has been laid now, and is receiving a lot of TLC.
4. Starts off with too much zoom, and me moving too quickly (that doesn't happen very often these days. It is nice to see the Thainess with an empty plastic bottle on the grass - gives it a touch of authenticity.
Seriously, I think I turned up today, expecting a snooker table smoothness. In reality, I've seen nicer ploughed fields. Hey, but what do I know? I'm sure the guys laying the pitch are experts in their field (excuse the pun). Clearly a lot of work has still to be done, but they're going to get it right. I liken it to a wound after an operation - looks awful straight after, but you don't even notice it a few weeks later.
Major progress this week - looking more and more like a football stadium each week.

Re: UHT Vana Nava Hua Hin City FC 2015
I too visited the new ground late this afternoon. Things are progressing quickly now. Virtually all the construction is complete and most the remaining jobs are finishing tasks. Looks like they are getting ready to put the roads and car parking in. The roof of the stand still needs to be put on and the temporary clip together seating on both sides of the ground needs to be erected. The projected completion date given by the mayor recently looks achievable.
As for the pitch, I agree with BB,it does look a bit rough at this stage but they seem to have made a decent job of laying the turf. The main thing at this stage is making sure it is regularly watered and this is being done. The first turf that was laid was to the nearside left of BBs video. The latest to be laid is darker green. I was pleased today to see that the earliest turf had gone through its wilting and yellowing stage and new green grass was starting to grow. I would think given another couple of weeks all the pitch will be ready for its first cut. Once this is done they really need to start working on it with a roller to get it flat as possible and do a serious amount of top dressing to level out the bumpiness. Continue watering and with the help of the rain we will have a good pitch in three months time. Fingers crossed.

Re: UHT Vana Nava Hua Hin City FC 2015
Not had a chance to post anything about the game on Sunday until now, seems it's been pretty well covered already so I won't go into too many details but here's a couple of my thoughts....
Firstly I agree it was a bad day at the office for us. I'm afraid as nice a guy as he is and club captain an all, seeing Kanchit was in the starting 11 worried me, even more so when he was moved to centre half after Valery's substitution. Ok you could argue the 2 goals we lost were down to 2 poor individual errors(neither of them by Kanchit) but we were caught square and flat footed for both but especially the 2nd, and we just didn't look anywhere near as organised at the back as we have been of late. Ok, it would seem Pu is injured just now so couldn't play but in Pu, Da and Valery we have 3 quality centre halves. 2 of the 3(I don't mind which) have to be on the field at all times. Subbing Valery just to get another foreigner on(Andre) was a bad decision. The timing was strange as well, we were in injury time in the first half, surely he could have thought it over during half time and hopefully realised it would be a bad move!
The first half hour was very dull, I was genuinely almost falling asleep! Around that time Byrne tried his luck with a 30+yd free kick which was our first shot of the match! I felt we finished the first half strongly after that, putting them under some pressure but to no avail.
As soon as they scored all the usual play acting and time wasting tricks predictably started. Another slightly strange substitution came with Choi being introduced to the game, he played like he's been conscripted and spent the last 2 years in the army..... Oh yeah, he has.... That's why! Still looked way off the pace, offfered nothing and it was his wasteful free kick which led to their 2nd goal. I can't understand why he was brought on ahead of 34 who really impressed me last week.
Credit where credit is due though and to battle back from 2 nil down with about 5 mins to go is good going, indeed we should really have won it with the chance Andre couldn't quite divert goalwards and went inches past the post. At the moment disappointed to have dropped 2 points there but maybe it will be an important point gained come the end of the season.
Ultimately though, that performance showed the team has still not settled. I'm not talking about players settling into the club and being made welcome and making new friends, I'm talking about playing as a team. We're not there yet, once we get there we'll be unstoppable! Let's just hope we can achieve that sooner rather than later!
Also, off the pitch. Khaikaew said in his post match interview fans of Hua Hin have no need to worry, he'll still be working closely with the team, he's not leaving.
In another development yesterday, an experienced 57 year old Brazilian coach has been brought in to help out with TOT. The article is written in such a way that he is here to help Khaikaew as opposed to actually taking over the reins himself.
I hope the club(s) make this press release letting us fans know what's happening soon.....
