UHT Vana Nava Hua Hin City FC 2015
Re: UHT Vana Nava Hua Hin City FC 2015
Well, thanks bsdk, we were obviously watching the same game. 1st half was like watching last season's champions, with goals by Andre, Jonata (spelling courtesy of GD in an earlier post) and Lucas. The team played as an efficient unit, moving forward together, and defending well when required.
2nd half for the first 25 minutes was trying to play keepsie with the ball amongst the defenders. How bad we are at that game, and we would almost certainly have conceded against a decent side.
We tried to play football again in the last 20 minutes, but most people had nodded off by then. Andre netted his 2nd goal on 90 minutes.
The most amazing thing to come out of today is that we actually lost to this shower in the FA cup.
The good news is we're back to 2nd, and it's away to 3rd place Seemok next Saturday - probably the season's furthest trip.

Re: UHT Vana Nava Hua Hin City FC 2015
Well, what a difference a week makes! As poor and disappointing a performance as last week was, this was the opposite. Hua Hin outclassed their opponents in every department. Some of the football played was excellent, when you look at some of the near misses we had, hitting the bar near the end of the match, Jonata skying one over the bar with just the keeper to beat from no more than 8 yards out, Valery heading one just slightly the wrong side of the bar from about 2 yards out! There was another one in the first half but I'm struggling to remember who it actually fell to.... I'm thinking no.31 but could be mistaken.... Blasted high/wide when it looked easier to score.... If we had won 7 or even 8 nil it would not have been an unfair reflection on the game, such was the gulf in class.
Difficult to pick out any individual as being star man yesterday as there were so many good performances. I would like to mention no.34 though, I've mentioned before about how I really like the look of him, thought he had an excellent game at Samut Sakhon and was baffled/disappointed he didn't feature last week. I was very pleased to see him back in the starting lineup and he didn't disappoint, the coach gave him a very specific role to play and he nailed it.
I noticed we actually changed our shape a little this week, still played 4 across the back and still with Andre as the lone striker but whereas previously the coach has insisted upon this 4-3-2-1 shape(which I sometimes felt just looked like a far too negative 4-5-1), this week he clearly instructed no.34 to play a holding midfield role, playing in front of the back 4 and giving them some protection, whilst allowing the other 4 midfielders to attack at will, much more attack minded and it worked a treat. I felt we were much more incisive yesterday than in previous matches. Previous games we've had lots of the ball but not always looked that dangerous with it, yesterday there was a real attacking intent and some lovely 1 or 2 touch football played.
Some real competition for places throughout the team now, we seen the new left back make his debut ahead of Dusit Nongbratoom(sp?) felt for him slightly as he hadn't done much wrong but the new lad came in and done well. The midfield performed fantastically well and that was without Byrne or Choi(whom I still believe will be a good player given time) Anucha will be fit again probably this week but he will struggle to get into this team(despite him being one of last season's champions) and of course Da was only on the bench yesterday. Indeed I'm pretty sure our bench would walk into any other team in the league's starting lineup.
I did say that I was confident once this team finally clicked we would be unstoppable, well yesterday for me the team clicked, if we can continue with that level of performance for the remainder of the season we will win the league and be in with a great chance of bettering last season's champions league failure.
Yes you could say the game went a bit flat for a period of the 2nd half but I'll forgive them that, even during that spell some of the possession and passing was still excellent, almost toying with the opposition.
Massive game next week now, a win would leave us in an excellent position, I wouldn't be overly disappointed with a draw even, but from what I've seen of Seemok this season we have nothing to fear. Same level of performance as yesterday and we'll win comfortably.

Wow, some people are hard to please! I would take 4 nil every week! Probably only ever won by such a margin a handful of times in the club's history. On top of that, after yesterday's result, Samut Sakhon are the only team in the league with a superior goal difference to ours.bsdk1960 wrote: I don't know if it's equel points when the last game have been played, its about goal difference or head to head It must e the last as it didn't

very pleased with the win, 4-0 every week I would be pleased with to,but I'm not pleased when a team run around for nearly 30 min. and play like it was a training session the day after a game, and Seemok still have to play Nonthaburi I think,it would be a pity if it comes down to goal difference and we need a couple more which we easylli could have make yesterday if we have started 2 half withSabai Sabai wrote:Wow, some people are hard to please! Fair enough, I can understand where you're coming from but I do think it's a bit harsh. I've no doubt that was the best football we've played all season. We were in control the whole match, although not many teams in the world will completely dominate and batter the opposition for the entire 90 minutes.bsdk1960 wrote:very pleased with the win, 4-0 every week I would be pleased with to,but I'm not pleased when a team run around for nearly 30 min. and play like it was a training session the day after a game, and Seemok still have to play Nonthaburi I think,it would be a pity if it comes down to goal difference and we need a couple more which we easylli could have make yesterday if we have started 2 half withSabai Sabai wrote:Wow, some people are hard to please! Prior to yesterday's match, Nonthaburi's last 6 matches have been 3 wins + 3 defeats, with all 3 of the defeats being by a single goal, including league leaders Samut Sakhon scraping past them 2-1 last week. Yes, Seemok still have to play them but at Nonthaburi and I will be very surprised if Seemok win by as many as 4 goals. So, I actually think 4-0 has been a great score to help our goal difference and with a bit of luck or at times better finishing, we could easily have won by more with all the chances we created.

Re: UHT Vana Nava Hua Hin City FC 2015
With the uncertainty of the link up between Hua Hin FC and premier outfit TOT SC still shrouded in secrecy and the clubs promised press statement during the week not materialising I viewed this game with an air of apprehension in the wake of last weeks awful performance. Having missed the opportunity to move into 2nd place in the league last week we were given another opportunity to do so with results again going our way on Saturday. With our manager and the majority of our coaching staff going "awol" almost two weeks ago other than fleeting appearances at the game last Sunday and at the friendly against Chumpon on Thursday I wondered how well our team had been prepared for todays game. I need not have worried, Hua Hin were superb today.
A starting line up by no means guarantees a result but I was far happier with todays starting 11 than I was with last weeks. Several changes had been made. The back four was almost entirely changed. Anaecha Masamak No. 37 made his debut at leftback in place of Samut Sakhon goal scoring hero Dusit Nongpatum No. 33. Panupong Rampairoh No. 31 returned at right back following Kanchits woeful performance last week. Korakote Chotiwattanamas (Pu) No. 12 replaced Da No. 5 following his defensive blunder for Globlex's first goal last week with only Valery Hiek retaining his defensive position.
In midfield Wongsawad No. 6, Natthapong Kamaksorn No. 34 joined Lucas, Gionata (sorry BB this is the spelling on his shirt) and Athit Wisetslip No. 2 with Andre restored to the starting line up as a lone striker. It was Michael Byrnes turn to sit out as the extra non asian foreigner and he was on the bench.
The team was set up in a 4 - 1 - 4 -1 formation with midfielders Natthapong Kamaksorn playing deep and Gionata taking every opportunity to join Andre up front.
From the kick off Hua Hin were intent on attack. Lucas shaved the post with a free kick early on before his brother, Andre, showed excellent control to turn his defender and finish with precision from the edge of the box after 10 minutes. Hua Hin were creating chance after chance and Gionata should have made it 2 - 0 but just pulled his well struck effort wide of the post when it seemed easier to score. The second was not long in coming though. Lucas cut in from the left before laying the ball on a plate for his brother who looked certain to score. His shot was well saved by the keeper but Gionata reacted quickly to put a first time shot home from the rebound. Hua Hin were playing great football and the midfield in particular was really buzzing. Both full backs were joining the attacks to provide additional support and width, with debutant Anaecha Masamak making very impressive runs to get to the bye line and put in quality balls.
Hua Hins third came from a run and excellent ball in by Anaecha which was blocked by the keeper and only partially cleared by a defender to the edge of the box. Athit won a good tackle with the ball breaking to Lucas who finished with a well placed shot from 20 yards that gave the keeper no chance. The pressure continued up to the break but the score remained at 3 - 0. In reality we could easily have been five or six up at half time such were the number of chances we had created in the first 45 minutes.
The second half continued in similar vein with Hua Hin continuing to create chances. Gionata was released into the box and should have made it 4 - 0. He opted for power rather than accuracy and his shot whistled just over the bar from 12 yards out with only the keeper to beat. Andre did have the ball in the net again but was punished for what was deemed to be an unfair challenge on the keeper by the referee.
The Nonthaburi defence were really struggling to handle Hua Hins attackers and were resorting to going to ground for the minimum of contact in the hope the referee awarded them soft free kicks which he generally did. Hua Hin continued to play some lovely controlled and quality football whilst consolidating their advantage. Another effort had the Nonthaburi keeper scrambling to his left to finger tip another effort out for a corner.
With Veerayuth Sriwichai, Surasak Wongchai and Sakda Kumgun on for Gionata, Wongsawad and Panupong Rampairoh Hua Hin kicked on in the last quarter of the game. Andre made it 4 - 0 on 90 minutes after being fed by his brother. Still Hua Hin were looking for more and Veerayuth hit the bar with a powerful header from 12 yards right at the death with the keeper beaten.
This was a fantastic 90 minutes of football. The first half in particular was as good as I've seen this season. The second half wasn't far behind. None of the team played any less than very well, for others their performances were outstanding.
Anaecha made an impressive debut at left back. His defensive play was solid and the team was in no way weakened by his inclusion instead of Dusit. Where he was better than Dusit was in attack. He made numerous runs in the first half but unlike Dusit, who tends to cross from too deep, he got to the bye line after beating defenders and put in quality crosses.
Valery was awesome. His tackling, heading and sheer physical strength is a tremendous asset at the back. His decision making is excellent and he doesn't worry about just clearing the danger with a big boot when required.
In midfield I can't think of anything critical to say. Wongsawad was back to early season best. His touch, control, passing and workrate were all excellent. He is a fantastic professional and I am glad he is commanding a place in this team.
Lucas was back to his best and a constant threat on the left and through the middle. He has been poor the last few games and personally I think he is not the same player when his brother is not in the team such is their level of understanding together.
Athit Wisetslip was very close to being man of the match again. He has been so every game since his arrival. For such a young lad his skill and vision is superb. He rarely gives the ball away and even when he does he generally wins it back immediately. He made many forward runs today which committed defenders and allowed his team mates to prosper in the space he had created.
Finally Natthapong Kamaksorn, what a game he had and my man of the match. As a playmaker virtually everything started with him. His passing and control was impeccable. He sprayed the ball all over the park with tremendous accuracy. He played the ball long and short and dictated the whole pattern of play. I am looking forward to seeing much more of this guy.
Can't understand or believe the critical comments, has to be a wind up, so I'm not going to waste my time replying.

Re: UHT Vana Nava Hua Hin City FC 2015
I'm sorry GD, I don't have time to debate it this week, I'm flitting to and from Bangkok all week, but the first 25 minutes of the 2nd half were abysmal - are you sure you didn't nod off a dream it? Hua Hin switched right off, and you are the first person I've talked to who has said anything different. We play a very dangerous game at the back, but while Pu is there, we should be OK.Geordie Dancer wrote:The second half continued in similar vein with Hua Hin continuing to create chances.

Re: UHT Vana Nava Hua Hin City FC 2015
I definitely didn't think we were abysmal at any point yesterday, last week at Globlex was abysmal for the most part.
Yesterday was our best performance of the season, by a distance for me. We controlled the game completely for 90 minutes, possibly took our foot off the gas for a short spell in the 2nd half but we were still creating chances without actually affording the opposition any of their own. Can't really ask for more than that.

Think you're still having nightmares/flashbacks to last season! I feel a lot more relaxed/secure about our current defence. I'm struggling to remember any hairy moments at the back from yesterday actually, I can vaguely remember our keeper having to make a save at one point....Big Boy wrote:We play a very dangerous game at the back

I;m not sure what you mean about a wind up,is it because someone don't agree with you that you don't wan't to waste your time ? well that s a good way to have debate on a forum. but seems youre views are supperiors to others.Geordie Dancer wrote:With the uncertainty of the link up between Hua Hin FC and premier outfit TOT SC still shrouded in secrecy and the clubs promised press statement during the week not materialising I viewed this game with an air of apprehension in the wake of last weeks awful performance.

Within 2 minutes of coming on Da almost repeated last week's disaster. I think he had flashbacks as well and eventually gave it the big boot.Sabai Sabai wrote:Think you're still having nightmares/flashbacks to last season! There were several occurences in the first segment of the second half where we lost the advantage for no logical reason other than our defender's desire to faff about at the back. Yes I agree our keeper had little to do and we survived, but we were playing one of the worst teams in the Thai leaguem

Whilst I can't remember the specific incident you're referring to, hopefully that shows he's learnt from his uncharacteristic mistake last week and won't be repeating it any time soon.Big Boy wrote:Within 2 minutes of coming on Da almost repeated last week's disaster. I think that in a nutshell is the reason for some of the (in my opinion) unnecessary criticism..... So because they're currently sitting bottom of the league we should be murdering them 10-0, anything less falls short of the expectation. You can only beat what's put in front of you, and Hua Hin achieved this extremely comfortably.Big Boy wrote:but we were playing one of the worst teams in the Thai league
I mentioned in a previous post about Nonthaburi's 6 matches prior to playing us in which they gained 3 victories and never lost by more than a single goal. Go and compare that to last week's opponents Globlex, they are in comparitive free-fall, they have not won a game since March! The form suggests Nonthaburi are currently playing better than Globlex, whom we made very hard work of. So, to turn it around and completely dominate the whole match and win as comfortably as we did deserves praise. Despite Nonthaburi currently being bottom of the league.

Re: UHT Vana Nava Hua Hin City FC 2015
The club have advised that they're travelling up to Bangkok tomorrow, ahead of Saturday's game vs Seemok, in order to adjust and get used to the artificial pitch. Another friendly against Chamchuri has been arranged as well.
Possibly disappointing for GD if he was planning taking in the training at Smor Prong but I'm pleased to see the club giving themselves the best possible preparation ahead of an important match on an unfamiliar surface.
