:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: This is the 5th I've heard of in a couple of weeks :cuss:

https://www.tatnews.org/2021/06/thailan ... cinations/

Do any of these systems talk to each other? Do they work? Is there any reason confusion reigns?

They seem to be accepting the odd Farang for vaccination to show they are being fair, meanwhile turning Ratsima away.

OK in MoD we had to make sure applications worked (defence is much more important than peoples lives), but national integrated systems used to take years to plan, develop, test and roll out. Thailand seems to be rolling out a new system every couple of days, yet the only thing that seems to have worked for me is the human interface issuing me a paper copy of an appointment. However, my piece of paper is not recognised by any IT system. IMHO this production line of new apps is little more than smoke and mirrors - a distraction whilst they try to get their act in order. Why can't they just make an all embracing statement. that will actually tell us what is really going on?

BB, you keep looking at things from the perspective of a British civil servant. If you carry on at this rate, you'll have a heart attack long before Covid gets you.
This is the way

I'm sorry, but 5 apps to manage Farangs in 14 days is quite unbelievable. I, along with thousands of others was issued an appointment with a QR Code pointing to an app that I should go to for checking progress. Has anybody got it to work? Does it talk to today's app? No idea because I'm still 5 apps behind trying to understand.

Stick with paper and people. Thailand excel at that.

My other half's mother (82) had her first AZ jab in Khon Kaen on the 10th. She was driven there by her 23 year old grandson. He ended ended up having a sinovac jab as so many Thais were failing to keep their appts for sinovac, that they were grabbing anyone they could to use up the vaccine they had available.

Yes, I read all of this stuff as it happens, but still it makes no sense.

I read the beginning, and great, they seem to remember me:
2. persons who have vaccination appointment on 5-9 July 2021.
Then I play with their links, and it tells me to register again :banghead: . They tell us to read the page regularly for updates, but do they read what they are saying themselves? Can any person who has a vaccination appointment on 5-9 July 2021 make any sense when they drill down into the various links/apps? If yes, can they please explain?

I queued up, spoke to a body and received an appointment on a piece of paper - I was happy. Then, they run out of vaccine, they're in a panic. and start playing their games, putting the onus upon us to sort it out. If anybody can put my number 6000000136084 into one of their links and get anything more than, "Please Register Again," as the response I'd love to know what I'm doing wrong.

dtaai-maai wrote: Sat Jun 12, 2021 8:32 am I was reading yesterday, on the BBC website I think, that most of those currently being hospitalised were younger than in previous 'waves', under 50 or 60, and that very few were older (and therefore fully vaccinated), with the result that there are likely to be fewer deaths and shorter hospital stays.
That more or less matches what my daughter told me when I was talking to her a few days back. She said they're seeing an increase in cases involving younger people.

One slightly worrying thing she mentioned is that she was working in the ICU all last week and that she and her colleagues were all struck by the fact that for the first time since the pandemic began, they have seen young people in their thirties, with no underlying conditions, being admitted to ICU.

The latest data also shows that having just one dose of the vaccine may provide up to 17% less protection against the new strain but two doses was found to be just as effective.

Despite this, 12 people have now died with the Delta variant having had both jabs while 83 fully vaccinated people were taken to A&E after testing positive.

The PHE data shows 1,234 people attended A&E in England between February 1 and June 7 and were confirmed as having the Delta variant.

Of these, 825 (67%) were unvaccinated, 220 (18%) were more than 21 days after their first dose of vaccine, and 83 (7%) were more than 14 days after their second dose.

As of June 7, there have been 42 deaths in England of people who tested positive for the Delta variant and died within 28 days.

Of this number, 23 were unvaccinated, seven were more than 21 days after their first dose of vaccine and 12 were more than 14 days after their second dose.
Worrying!

I just checked my appointment and it did indeed confirm that I'm registered but not currently eligible and to check back later.

It did however display in English.

So maybe another embarrassing translation error.

Incidentally, my wife missed out on this week's "mad vaccination" in HH. Her message is much more positive, it confirms she is registered and tells her how many before her in the queue.
