No, we agree - I was simply justifying my alternative that you saw reason to question.

Well your previous post was somewhat contradictory then, on the one hand you're agreeing it was the correct ball to play but then you're scathing it on the next!Big Boy wrote:No, we agree - I was simply justifying my alternative that you saw reason to question.
You can't have it both ways, it was either the right ball to play or the wrong one. If it's the right ball but he's just made a mess of it, that's unlucky. If it's the wrong ball and is punished because of that, then you could say we were asking for trouble.... ie faffing about at the back. Not something you can level at someone trying to play the right ball and develop the attack.
I enjoy having a debate on here, but I'm done with this one now, will look forward to next week's!

Put a date in your diary folks, Wednesday is the day we've been waiting on!
Kanchit interview just posted, starts talking about the disappointment of losing at the weekend and how we can't afford any more slip ups etc etc.
He then says Wednesday there will be some form of press conference formally introducing the new players that have been brought in for the 2nd half of the season and also promises everything will be made clear with regards the coach and the staff etc as well.
Should be interesting

Re: UHT Vana Nava Hua Hin City FC 2015
Having read and re-read the latest series of posts I have to say I am more confused than ever. I have always been of the opinion that when writing, if you do not do so in a fashion that the recipients understand then you are wasting your time. It should be clear, factual, answer all questions simply when required and provide reasoning as to the conclusions reached. Very little of your posts BB satisfy any of these criteria, in fact most are contradictary. As for writing in a different colour to provide clarity, I haven't stopped laughing yet. You should have underlined it as well then I'm sure I would have got it.
Finally football is a game of many diverse opinions and probably most have a degree of validity. What I can't stand are views which constantly criticise without citing any alternative whatsoever.
Whether you like it or not football is a possession game. With the ball you are king, without it you are nothing. Hua Hin have come up against teams who have defended on mass all season. How do you break that down? You must pass the ball around, retain possession and try and work an opening. Hua Hin were trying to do this at the point Seemok broke away and scored. Look again at the lead up to their goal. Every Seemok player is in front of Valery when he receives the pass. How would you suggest we break that down without passing the ball around or maybe you would just prefer to see it lumped forward and out for a throw in, goal kick, heading practice for their back four or catching practice for their keeper or players continuously looking for hollywood balls. If you don't pass the ball around at the back you will never create time and space for the midfielders to play. Basic football strategy.
Sabai Sabai wrote:I'll try asking the question a different way.... It is, for me anyway, quite clear the intended target of Valery's misplaced pass was 34. Nutthapong. Do you agree or disagree that was the correct pass to play?

A better choice than what? Nutthapong was the intended recipient he wasn't an alternative option. So to decipher your crypticism you agree Valery made the right choice of pass and wasn't faffing about. To go on to say Panupong was an alternative, yes he was, but a very difficult one. That would have been a 60 yard pass having to be made off Valerys wrong foot and with the wrong body shape with their left full back positioned only 10 yards deep of our player in a direct line of interception. Not a serious alternative in my opinion.Big Boy wrote:Yes, he would have been the better choice, but if he couldn't manage that, then I think Panupong was the alternative.
I certainly would in Saturdays game, This comment therefore infers that you thought there was faffing about.Big Boy wrote:Firstly, I knew you would deny faffing about
And this confirms it.Big Boy wrote:Whether or not you can see faffing about at the back is irrelevant. It is happening, I don't like it
Or maybe not, back tracking a bit here.Big Boy wrote:As I said, if you read my response, it states, "For the majority of Sunday's match, there was no faffing about at the back
Your original thoughts and yet you now seem to be agreeing Valery chose the correct pass. Four contradictary comments about the same game/incident.Big Boy wrote:but their stupid suicidal faffing about tendencies at the back were the deciding factor in this crucial 'must win' game.
Good enough, Dangerous areas? For pities sake what the hell are you talking about! Hua Hin were 20 yards from the Seemok goal when the throw in was taken and were on the attack. When should we try to play football if not when that close to the opposition goal?Big Boy wrote:Until they are good enough, they should not be playing balls that are too difficult for them in dangerous areas. Or do you approve of giving such an advantage to the opposition?
I agree Pu is a top quality defender, however when you are talking about faffing about at the back he takes more chances than either Valery or Da in really dangerous areas, ie. in our own penalty area. Fortunately thus far his ability has meant that he hasn't been caught in possession.Big Boy wrote:We need Pu at the back - with him in the side, the errors don't happen. Pu has the vision to take us where we need to be.
Really, maybe you should read my comments on the recent Globlex game again.Big Boy wrote:All that I hear is regular praise for the way the team is playing.

OK guys, I can't be arsed to read any more of this (I stopped reading at line 19
) - it is easy picking fault with anybody's posts, yours included. When people start using that tactic, it's usually because they have nothing else useful to say. We'll have to agree to disagree. Regarding the use of colour (I underlined this also in an attempt to appease you, but removed it before posting
), it is normal practice when writing within the body of a quote to enable readers to easily distinguish original post and response - I am pleased it amused you.
If you like our team throwing away points, so be it. I don't, and will retain my football supporter's right to criticise bad football. Losing 5 out of the last 9 points because of stupid errors is not something I find easy to digest. You guys trying to justify a stupid schoolboy error amazes me - it was a crap ball that cost us a goal. No more, no less. Unfortunately, these crap balls at the back happen too often - something I have been saying for weeks, and predicted we would be punished in just this way against a team like Simork. Yes, there were signs on Sunday that the coach is trying to rectify the problem, but it still happened.
With the team we have, we should be better, and I wonder if complacency is the problem. On paper, our team is leaps and bounds ahead of the other teams, which makes Hua Hin City the team everybody wants to beat. As a result they play out of their skins to get a result.

Thanks for the lesson in editorial etiquette I will bear that in mind in the future.
I wrote my original view of the game which contained a two and a half line paragraph questioning your ascertain that the goal resulted from Hua Hin "faffing about". You took up the mantle to reply and tried to dispute that, although you now seem to have reluctantly agreed after much debate with others that that was not the case.
I surely have the right of reply to many comments that have been generated from MY (capitals and bold for emphasis
) original post which I have had in my second post. Had you not tried to dispute my original point and admitted, as you now have, that there was no faffing about there would not have been such a prolonged debate. A lesson for the future maybe
.
End of debate.

Basically, I've been predicting the goal that Simork scored for quite a few weeks. I call it faffing about, you can call it whatever you wish. My prediction unfortunately happened. Clearly I'm not the only one to have seen it coming because the coaches had eliminated a lot of what I call 'faffing about at the back' last Sunday, but unfortunately old habits die hard. I hope this hard lesson has been learnt. Unfortunately, I fear that when we go a couple of goals up on Sunday against a weak opposition, we'll start presenting JW Police with similar opportunities. Of course, JW shouldn't be good enough to convert the opportunities. We will see.

If that's not the problem, what is it then? You told us Valery made the ill fated pass into a dangerous area using his wrong foot (I hadn't picked up on that). Given that it was his wrong foot, should he really have taken a chance?

Big Boy, changing the subject a little. I live in Khao Takieb, quite close to the new stadium.
On what days do Hua Hin FC typically play their home games and what is the average size of the crowd?
I ask because it's already very busy in this area on Friday and Saturday evenings because of Cicada Market.
It could lead to major congestion if games coincide with the market.
Regardless, I'm looking forward to taking my 7 year old son, who loves playing football, to see a game or two.

Currently, they play on a Saturday or Sunday with a 16:00 kick off. Because of problems with the lack of cover, the club are considering moving to a later kick off time. When we win promotion to Div 1, kick of time is usually 18:00 or later.
The current 'paying' crowd is usually less than 250. I think they are hoping this will increase when we move closer to the city and when we win promotion.

Re: UHT Vana Nava Hua Hin City FC 2015
If you want to continue this debate I am happy to do so but I think everyone has made their points already.
To move on to what the problem is, here is my opinion based on what I have seen at training, two practice games and matches in recent weeks.
Since "news" of the TOT tie up broke the deal, reasons and the consequences have been shrouded in mystery. From a supporters point of view I am sure you will agree this has been unsettling. How much people within the club or the players know, I don't know, but at best its impact would have been one of no change but in reality it has to have been unsettling for them too. It's such a shame because everything had been going really well up to this development and still three weeks on my many questions remain unanswered and the team has in my opinion suffered as a consequence. The club had promised a full press release a week in but to date still nothing has been said. Hopefully all will become clear if the press conference tomorrow takes place but personally I still think many questions will remain unanswered. The management and communications of this takeover has be dreadful and as a PR exercise has been a disaster.
The head coach, Apisit Khaikaew has not been in attendance at training since three weeks ago today. I rate him highly but it does not matter how good he is if he is not working with the players on the training ground. By not being there his influence is at best severely limited and at worst non-existent.
Specific preparation for our last three games, Globlex, Nonthaburi and Seemok, has been poor. From what I have seen at practice the starting eleven have not played together, as previously was the case, there has been no specific game planning visable and no work on specific set plays or moves tailored to the opposition we were due to play.
In the two practice games Apisit had very little or no involvement. Against Chumpon he talked to a few of the opposition officials, fullfiiled the niceties and sat on the bench. At no time did he appear to address or coach the players. He left soon after the game finished.
Against Chamchuri last week he sat in the stand talking to TOT's new Brazilian coach, briefly sat on the bench with TOT's staff and then left during the first 30 minutes as TOT had a cup game that evening. Again he didn't appear to do any coaching or issue any instructions.
To be fair to Apisit the majority of what is happening is probably outside of his control, he is just carrying out the wishes of his employers. Regardless of that there is no doubt in my mind that the events of the last few weeks have had a detrimental impact on Hua hin Football Club who have become very much the poor relation behind TOT's needs.
To accentuate these problems we have also been without 75% of our other coaching staff for the majority of the last three weeks.
In recent weeks the issue of tiredness has raised its head. Although this appeared to be the case in the latter stages of Saturdays game it is from talking to people within the club that I first heard about this. The thought is the players are over training and from what I have been told and seen I agree. There is no doubt that the players are very fit, fitness is not the issue.
Comments were made after the Globlex game that the players were tired before kick off. Comments were made last week at the Chamchuri game that the players were very tired.
If you over train or sometimes do the wrong type of training there is not time for muscles to recover and therefore you lose sharpness, don't have a change of pace and generally feel lethargic. Players should be taking to the field feeling fresh, invigorated and raring to go. Apparently this has not been the case of late.
At this stage of the season fitness should not and is not an issue, the players are all fit. Training should be about brief warm ups and warm downs, after that the main focus should be on match preparation, set plays and moves, strategy and shortened practice games. This type of training is quite sufficient for players to maintain their fitness.
The current assistant coach who has been in charge for the last three weeks is apparently ex-army. At times the training has the look of squaddies training for a root march, not the ideal preparation for a football match.
I realise last weeks trip to Bangkok was made with the best intentions of preparing for playing on an artificial pitch on Saturday. At the time I thought that was good idea as well. With the benefit of hindsight I am not so sure.
The game against Chamchuri was a waste of time in terms of preparation for facing Seemok. The majority of Saturdays starting eleven only played 30 minutes and we picked up injuries which ruled Anaecha Masamak out of Seemok game.
I am sure we have all experienced the tireness associated with travelling and sleeping in strange beds in hotels. This now makes me think was the trip really necessary. There are enough articial pitches around Hua Hin which could have been used to practice and the players would then have been able to stay in a familiar environment before travelling to Supanburi on Friday the day before the game.
The most justifiable reason for going to Bangkok early was that it would have allowed Apisit to be at training. This didn't appear to happen so what was the point.
These are just a few of my thoughts. If Apisit really believes he should come back if Hua Hin are being affected by his absence and current dual role then he should return immediately. Hua Hin have been affected since day one of his absence.
One comment before I finish. I suggest you read my comment again. It was made in relation to your comment about Panupong being an alternative pass. Should Valery have taken a chance, no, and he didn't.Big Boy wrote:Big Boy wrote:

Seriously, yes we have discussed this verbally, and if the players truly feel they are being overworked, what is the answer? I would normally say pass it up the management pyramid, but is that pyramid still accessible to Hua Hin's footballers?
Agree 150%, this kind of uncertainty doesn't help anybody. However, the management have been playing mind games all season, spreading mis-information, and I'd had enough of them very early on. I've now switched myself off to most of it, but when it could affect your livelihood, it has to be very unsettling.Geordie Dancer wrote:Since "news" of the TOT tie up broke the deal, reasons and the consequences have been shrouded in mystery. I obviously don't have the benefit of knowing how influential he was on the training field. I can only reflect on the Plymouth Argyle experience with Paul Sturrock. Paul was a sick man, and while he was the figurehead, his minions did the real work. Influential or not, maybe Apisit has done his work in transforming the team, and he now feels it time for his underlings to earn a crust.Geordie Dancer wrote:The head coach, Apisit Khaikaew has not been in attendance at training since three weeks ago today.

The interview he gave after the game on Saturday, appeared to be what I felt was probably his most 'honest' interview since all this broke. The rest of the time he's just been towing the party line, saying the same things.Geordie Dancer wrote:If Apisit really believes he should come back if Hua Hin are being affected by his absence and current dual role then he should return immediately.
