Seen sticky pad type things in a few places, told that they work - basically they attract the rat - he steps on it and gets stuck and dies.

want to borrow my dog Judy?
Only slightly larger than a rat.
But eats anything.
God forbid anything should enter her hearing range.
If theres a shortage of eggs, then blame Judy.
She has eaten all the hens.
I keep telling her to only eat the cockerals.
Noisy buggers.
100 Baht a day. Negoitable.

A good terrier can work but will cost you.

Try another cat. Some have it and some do not. They are much quicker than any dog and much keener at finding the rats in the first place.

I have a lazy cat now but I had one before that would catch any rat. Trial and error I think.

Also rats learn fairly quickly. Once they know the cat is a killer they stay away.

There are other methods far too barbaric for me but they work.

We've done 'rats on sticks' on here before so it's a PC safe subject. Pete

Seriously now, no rat jokes....there is a product sold by Bayer (Advanced) named "lakoominh" (in Thai script on the box) which contains 0.0375% coumatetralyl. Small gel packs and you put them behind your bushes, in any holes you find etc. They do the trick as they usually drag them back to their burrow and the entire family dines their last. Pete

PS: Not to be used if you have pets in your yard.

fry bacon in a pan with plenty of hard fat such as lard or even butter.

eat bacon

cut foam ball, or foam from a chair or cushion, into small finger nail sized cubes. Soak in grease, and allow to cool and dry. this makes the foam bits shrink as the fat cools and hardens

scatter round rat hole.

rats smell bacon, eat foam bits

stomach acid dissolves fat, foam expands, rat dies.

no chemicals involved

In the back-end of the shopping mall, where ratty-stuff is, theres a box of rat-bait for sale. The bait is in the form of quite large tablets and seems to attract 'em and do 'em in quite famously. The box has the Union-Jack +
made in UK on it. good hunting.
