Pranburi Tour bus to BKK??

Post by iagra »

In all my holiday travels to and from Hua Hin, I have been happy to use the normal aircon bus from the Southern Bus Terminal (Sai Tai) in Bangkok.
On Saturday 16 August, however, the 3pm bus from Hua Hin inexplicably (to me) ended up in Mor Chit (Northern), which added about 1 hour to my travel time. Given that this was the final full day of this year's holiday, and the fact that I was suffering a little bit from a dodgy stomach, I found this unexpected change of routine somewhat inconvenient.
Does anyone know if there's something I should know about this service?
(Even the taxi driver who eventually took me to my guest=house seemed confused, when I told him No, I had not just come from Chiang Mai, but Hua Hin. "Hua Hin - Sai Tai...")

I would think that it is likely that is something to do with the PAD protests especially affecting buses from the South. We have had road blocks down here for the last week.

What doesn't make sense though is that Mo Chit would made it easier to get to central BKK on the BTS, but when does sense come into it?

Iagra did you specifically ask for a ticket to Sai Dtai or just Bangkok, because there are now 3 or 4 daily buses that go from the bus terminal near the night market in Hua Hin to Mo Chit.

I wasnt imagining things then.

As Ricardo said, some do go to Mo Chit, the GF used to get it and onwards to Khorat.

That was before the new station opened with direct buses to Khorat.
