You might want to ask this question on the health forum rather than Nightcrawlers! :D

It could depend on how the knee was damaged!

Knee Replacement

Post by housedoctor »

I love it. What fu#*i*g comedians. If wit was shit we would have some problem. Truth is I was full of  & Voltroil etc. and posted on the wrong forum.. Thanks to all for the reminder. My original query still stands. Probably as a result of to many nights on my knees in the wet grass, the knees are Donald Ducked. Has any one any commemts or advice on their experiences of knee replacement surgery in Hua Hin Hospitals or Bangkok Hospitals. I look forward, I think, to some feedback.

Cannot recommend, or otherwise, but if you have deep pockets, or insurance, the facilities are available in Bangkok.

OK HD lets be serious

I am being treated (not for knees) at Pramongkotglao hosiptal in BKK it is a big militery hospital with specialists in most things and I would recomend it. Being a public hospital it will also not break your bank, consultation with a specialist 50B.

When I first went there I had already had tests at another hospital and after an exam and more tests treatment was started immediatly, no waiting time for that.

There could be 2 setbacks one is you will need someone with you who speaks Thai and the other is there can sometimes be waiting times of up to an hour to see a specialist.

Since going there I have discovered that their specialists are farmed out to the private hospitals for instance the doctor who is treating me ( consitered one of the top 4 in the country) does 2 days a week at a private hospital as their specialist and I am told the others in the unit where I am being treated do the same.
So there is a posibility at an expensive private hospital you would be treated by the same doctor.

 Many thanks for that Robby. I was due to go into BKK International on the 15th Dec but I'll have the missus check that one out. With the bit of grief in BKK at the minute its probably best to hang on a little longer. Thans again. I'll follow up with a post for info purposes when all is said & done. There was a similar story with Petchaburi Hospitals. Doc

Having suffered with hideously painful knee problems at a young age through excercise, family genetics, work, and being given too many different, more importantly indifferent , opinions at that time I elected to use water based therapy .Something my disabled father had experienced a certain level of success with .I have had no problems since ,15 years on, even though I am now limited to occaisional swimming pool access for the last few years .

Good Luck

As you find out more, please keep me informed, either through the forum, or PM.

I asked the same type question about a year ago. I'm headed towards replacement in a few years, each month the pain increases so just waiting until too much.

I've tried numerous therapies, etc, but no progress.

Thanks and good luck!!
