Health Care

Post by rdthieler »

I was wondeing about your guys' feelings toward the current health care facilities in HH. Do you feel they meet the needs? Or does something need to be done? As far as I remember from when I lived there between 2003 and 2005 they were horrible, is this still the case?

There have been recent postings on this but basically, the choices are still the same. Two hospitals and an number of clinics. Hua Hin Government hospital has upgraded its facilities over the past couple of years and personally, knowing what I know about San Paulo, I would go to the Government hospital.

For less serious illnesses I've found the International Polyclinic competent.

Having said all that, if I had a serious illness and was able to travel, I would still go to any of ten or twelve hospitals in Bangkok before going to one in Hua Hin.

Definately not adequate.

Trust that in future this situation will improve.

I love HH and I do not want to sound negative, but three things could help:

-health care
-schooling
-airport

Health Care

Post by rdthieler »

If you are interested in quality health care, I am working closely with one hospital in Bangkok, Vejthani and I have managed to acquire a shuttle service from Hua Hin to the hospital in Bangkok free of charge, once a week or by need. Obviously not for minor illnesses. We are also currently thinking of maybe moving into Hua Hin if we see the need for doing so, that is why I was asking. I have read the previous posts, but just wanted to make sure.
I will be coming to Hua Hin to stay there for a while in about two weeks, probably for a month or two, if you want any more information or a contact to this hospital, I can help.

Hospitals in Hua Hin

Any updates on hospital services in Hua Hin? I'll have a diabetic staying with me who's had a few dodgy moments in the past, including a coma.

Same same... :)
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

I heard about a year ago that there was plans to build a new private hospital just south of Hua Hin but as far as I know nothing is happening. My wife just gave birth by section in the Hua Hin Government Hospital and I thought the service was excellent and the rooms on the 8th floor were beautiful. The cost for everything including 3 nights room was 22,000 Bt.
