It would seem that you can no longer get a re-entry permit at Suvarnabhumi Airport, you now have to go to your Immigration Office.
Whilst I have never done this, it was always an option, up until now.
Re-entry permits no longer available at Suvarnabhumi

Somebody wrote this on another forum regarding his experience this morning:
"today morning i went to drop my wife at airport, she was hadding to mumbai, when we went to have re-entry stamp we found that re entry counter was closed since many days, with a notice"PLEASE TAKE YOUR RE-ENTRY VISA AT IMMIGRATION OFFICE SOI SUNLUM, CONTACT 02-2873101"
it was 8 am,she have already cheked in and we were so confused,i also asked at information counter but as you know they just dont know anything,i kept on asking many airport staff also but no use,
then my wife went in immigration, and she contected some random officer inside,he gave her application form and choped re-entry,problem was solved for now.
this is just to inform all that if you are flying, take your re-entry before, or else you never know what can happen while departing."
I don't know if it's true, just wanted to give people a heads up to save any hassle in case it is.
I am flying out on Sunday and whilst I have a multi entry, I will have a look.

Was just about to apologise to you, governor.
I've just taken a look and it does seem as though the relevant office at the airport closed yesterday or the 14th Jan, so you could well be right.
Please let us know what you see when you go back.
I may be returning briefly to the UK in early February and whilst I was intending getting a re-entry permit here in HH, I could have easily thought "forget the trip to soi 102, just do it at the airport".
So, it's important information for many on annual extensions. I doubt you'd have much chance of getting to Soi Suan Plu in time - especially if it's a nighttime flight
