Hey guys
I could potentially be offered a job in HH in one of the new hotels and my wife will probably try to teach English while we are there so she dosnt get bored.
We are living in Shanghai where she is teaching English and it was quite easy for her to find a job, so I was wondering....are there heaps of teaching jobs in this town?
Thanks for your help

Teaching jobs in HH
Wouldn't say there's "heaps" but if she's properly qualified(degree+CELTA/TEFL/DELTA) then should be able to find one. Don't know if the teaching jobs will match up with her expectations and I've heard a lot of teachers are worked fairly hard at some places.
Probably be fine though but really you'll have to wait till VS or one of the others that has more direct experience than me of teaching in HH sees this thread. Won't be too long, I'm sure.
EDIT: By the way, welcome to the forum!

Gab,
Female teachers are much more in demand here than male teachers (sorry lads
). There aren't as many of us in the LOS, so we have a kind of rarity value.
Many of the schools don't advertise, or advertise in the wrong places, so I'd suggest that you visit the schools and Rajabhats looking smart, with a copy of your CV. I know that the school on the Palu U Road runs an English Programme. Quite a nice job, if you don't mind teaching teenagers, as the classes are usually quite small.
When are you coming here? Between now and the end of May is by far the best time for job-hunting (the new terms start at the beginning of June).
Good luck,
VS
