electronic music/dancing in Hua Hin?

Post by retchthegrate »

So the only place I found for dancing in Hua Hin in december was the Hilton, which was ok on the music front, but a little too much hip hop and pop for my tastes. Is there anywhere that plays techno/trance? Yes I know it may be asking a bit much for a small city... :)

You may find some being played in limited amounts but as far as I know, Hua Hin lacks a bit as far as clubs are concerned. I've tried the Hilton but to be honest, I never bother anymore - crappy music and over priced drinks. Not sure if you ever visit Bangkok but if you do, there are one or two clubs opened up on Koasarn Road which really bounce. If you do find anything around here, be sure to mention in on here for others as well.

I agree with Takieb, Hua Hin is a lovely place, but if you want to go clubbing, it is very limited. Bangkok, is your best best.

There nearest you'll find to electronic music is the outside bars in the bazaar near Tings bar and the kareokes after hilton shuts. Its not anything I would describe as good. Mainly rubbish hard house remixes of poor hiphop tracks. In fact apart from a few places in Bkk LoS is extremely poor as far as clubbing goes.

LoS actually seems to be the old dj's resting home these days. I understand Graham Gold is pretty much a resident here now and Dave Pearce etc are all playing Samui, Patts and Bkk.

I heard some decent beats coming out of an illegal club near my friend's house in Bangkok, but I'm currently expecting to spend the next trip down in Hua Hin and Punoy so I was hoping (though not expecting) that there'd be something local.

I DJ Psy-Trance & Dubstep & back over to HH about 10 days.
If anyone has access to a venue/sound system (legal of course!), I'd be happy to bring over the decks & tunes...

nice, is there a psy-trance scene in Thailand? My Thai friend who was into it before she moved to the US didn't have any idea about anything current.

I think you'd have to hit the Islands for the Full Moon parties (or maybe Koa San Road!)
