Wow, that's terrible! I used to watch Kung Fu in the U.S. regularly. I had an image of him that he was really that zen person and not just acting... guess you never know.

I just did a google news search and found two articles that both said he "died of natural causes".

Yeah RIP man you were one cool dude!

I don't buy the story of his suicide either, too unbecoming of the man to take the easy way out.

He's up there somewhere doing his kung-fu on the forces of darkness, or something...

The Kung Fu tv series was a lot of fun!

I enjoyed his performance of Woody Guthrie and the Kill Bill flicks.

I loved those Kung Fu programmes, they have never been equaled IMHO.

I believe his younger brother Keith, died in tragic circumstances some years ago.

Apologies to SM67 as I posted a similar item in the News section before I had seen this one.

Mods please remove mine.

US actor David Carradine, found hanged in his Bangkok hotel room, may have died from a sex act gone wrong, a Thai police commander says.

"There was a rope tied around his neck and another rope tied at his sex organ, and the two ropes were tied together and hung in the closet," Lieutenant General Worapong Siewpreecha told reporters on Friday.

"Under these circumstances we cannot be sure that he committed suicide but he may have died from masturbation," he said.

Carradine, star of 1970s TV series Kung Fu and the Kill Bill movies, was found naked and hanging in a closet in his hotel room by a housekeeper on Thursday morning. He was 72.

He was in the Thai capital to shoot a film called Stretch.

Worapong said police had questioned the production crew working on the film on the day of Carradine's death, who told them the actor "drank beer from morning until evening the day before he was found dead," he said.

Police said an autopsy report was expected within the next day, while forensic police had dusted the hotel room and were testing a drink found in Carradine's room.

They have also asked the United States embassy for permission to question his wife, Worapong said.

Forensic expert Porntip Rojanasunan, who works with Thailand's Ministry of Justice, said the death appeared to be caused by an "auto-erotic accident."

"It's not suicide or murder but he died... after masturbation," Porntip told AFP.

Police officer Pirom Janthapirom told AFP that there was no sign of bruising on Carradine's body. Security cameras showed no one going in or out of Carradine's room, which had been locked from the inside, he said.

The producer of Stretch, French firm MK2, said Carradine was found at the Nai Lert Park hotel three days before the end of filming for the movie.

A spokesman for the company said Carradine's death "could be accidental."

Have a little dignity and respect.

In his life he provided entertainment.....his death should not be a source of it no matter HOW it happened.

Well said Sandy.

For me there's more to this story, for someone who was in good health, about to make a film, to suddenly decide to get into risky sht like that has my alert radar waving red flags.
My guess is he pissed off someone and they might of decided to take care of him.
With a proper Forensic investigation team we might know what really happened. As it stands now the Bangkok Police will write this off as a tragic accident.

I was a great fan of Kung Fu, a supercool hero wandering through the West, in search of his brother I think, righting wrongs and beating up the bad guys in slow motion, but come on chaps, it was acting. He is (was) entitled to his foibles which seem to have gone badly wrong.

Sorry but I'm confused about your post.

According to the papers, video records show no one going into, or leaving his room, which was locked from the inside.

Have you not read the media reports so far?

If you have, how you arrived at your conclusion is beyond me. :?

Please show a little respect for this well liked actor, at least until a full forensic investigation and autopsy are completed and published.
