Visa Question

Post by Name Taken »

I have a question.
I have heard that Thai citizens can get a 10 year multiple entry visa for the UK and/or the USA. Why are USA and UK citizens only allowed a 1 year multiple entry visa for Thailand? :?

Not too long ago a Thai asked me why he needs a visa for his short visit to Europe whereas all the Europeans get a 30-day stamp at the airport free of charge. He thought that was not fair.

I was told when applying for me wife's first UK visitors visa that she would have to obtain at least two 6 month visa's and then she would qualify for a two year visa and after that she could apply for a five year visa, I never got as far as asking about a ten year but at least she doesn't have to report every 90 days at a UK immigration office and you buy the visa at list price if you get my drift.
There is only two things wrong with a woman, her face !

I don't think Thai citizens can really complain about not getting a 30-day stamp at the airport free of charge when they can get 10 year multiple entry visas.

Because most Thai's can't and it is a long process for those that can.

But the fact is that Thai citizens can get a 10 year multiple entry visa.
When is Thailand going to start offering 10 year multiple entry visas for citizens of the USA and the UK? (never?)

You can get a Permanent Residency. You can even apply for Thai nationality. Good luck!

I think getting Permanent Residency status and/or Citizenship are very different than getting visas. I don't see how you can draw a comparison there, if a person has Permanent Residency status and/or Citizenship then that person does not need a visa. I'm not an expert though.

I don't think farangs can really complain about not getting a 10 year visa when they can get permanent residency.

Same same comparison.
