Went into immigration today to do our 90 day report. While shooting the breeze they told us Immigration would be moving to the New building going up near the HH police station. They thought it would be 4 to 6 months before the building was ready for occupancy.
That sounds like a much more convenient place then some of the ones that had been previously mentioned.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
My wife read the Thai sign in front of that construction as I was guessing it would be a new police station or other government offices and if I recall correctly she said it was going to be something "for the people" like a museum or for sales or display of Thai arts and crafts or OTOP. Her translation was pretty vague but it seemed to rule out government offices.
She certainly didn't mention that it said anything about Immigration.

and in the spirit of making it user friendly just like the last two locations they are
1) making sure the sign is tiny, hidden behind a stack of bar and office signs, and points to the building next door;
2) Placing the office on the third floor, removing the stairs and installing a termite eaten rope ladder;
3) Making sure the front office for the public is in fact a 1m x 1m broom cupboard with only one broken chair with an air con unit set at -22 degrees celcius
and
4) Opening and closing at random points during the day while all the staff take a break at the same time and sit around eating som tam whilst grinning madly at the long cue of pissed off farangs waiting to get stamped.

An update... Immigration boss told us today that the move will be to area where Red Cross is located (behind Testaban) and will move in about 3 months.
