Hua Hin Kite Festival 2010

The 11th Hua Hin Kite Festival "Colouring the Sky" will be held on March 13-14 at the Naresuan Military Base (around 10km north of Hua Hin on the ocean side).

Naturally all promotion to this event is in Thai only but I imagine it will be similar to previous ones. Photos of the last event can be seen here:

I went to the kite festival a couploe of years a go and it's quite a big event well worth a visit if you're at a loose end.
If you've got any Thai kids in tow, they seem to love kites.

I hope the clouds get blown away for the kite festival this weekend - its not the same under a gray sky!

Had a look up there today at the usual array of inflatable alligators and the like. Damn hot though and the queue of cars all wanting to park three feet away from the venue was enough to send us back down the beach!
