Ever thought about putting together an 'insider's guide'?

Post by troopie »

Doubtless this suggestion has been made before, but having read a lot of bloody useful information within this forum, I wondered if you'd ever thought about putting together a sort of 'Insider's Guide to HH', containing the basic vital information -- the sort of thing a new resident/long term stayer might need to know? You could even make it a regular thing, updated once a year or so -- maybe in the autumn, just before the long holiday mob arrive.
I know this might take up a lot of time but think about the potentiqal advertising revenue?

Anyway, it seemed like a good idea to me, but then again . . .

Bit of a late reply to this one but here goes. This forum is the insiders guide, all people have to do is login and ask their questions.

Are your talking about duplicating the information here onto the website?

Insider's guide

Post by troopie »

I meant a printed, hard copy, book-style guide. After all, a lot of visitors & potential visitors don't know this website exists or maybe are not internet inclined -- but they might well visit bookstores, etc.
Does that make my suggestion clearer?

Sorry for the double posting --

The web seems to be a bit slow today -- midweek blues, I suppose!

Okay, I with you now. We have considered print media but the cost of putting it together and distributing it is way beyond what we have at the moment. Its taken over two years for this site to finally generate a little advertising revenue and that barely covers its operation so unless we get someone who is willing to invest in us its not going to happen for a while.

I see your point.
Well, I hope you do reach the point where such an idea becomes viable, as I'm sure it would be much appreciated -- especially with the WWW being so relatively hard to reach as it is in HH!

Keep up the good work!
