The missus has. Says it's great fun. Sounds like a mixture of OTOP and some entertainment... mostly Thais go I think.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Hi there Ladies & Gentleguys

I of course as a foreign born Thai had been to Plearnwarn several times and it has become one of Hua Hin's premier Tourist Attractions so to speak!
The Makers of Plearnwarn had very successfully created the Atmosphere of how Thailand was roughly 50 to 60 years ago! For those who where born during the "Old Days" are extremely happy that the makers preserve pieces of History which seem to get lost a long time ago!
For me and the younger GenX, GenMobile, GenM people it's very interesting to see how and in what Time our parents lived and to see old stuff from many decades past that looks so familiar!
Thai Nostalgia never goes out of fashion!!!

It's a load of rubbish imho. walk in and out, bit of an amusement park at the back but generally just a few shops selling garbage. The building looks ok though. Seems to be frequented by hi-so bkk thais taking photos

Didn't see much old museum stuff when I walked through ecept a tuk tuk and a few pieces. Must have missed that. Maybe you can enlighten us understudy as to the artifacts I missed?

I've never been inside it, but I pass by several times a day when I'm in Hua Hin and it's incredibly busy with the Thai weekend visitors.
Over the New Years holiday this year the carpark was full from mid-day until night and both sides of the road were parked up for about a kilometer, so whatever they're doing, it certainly attracts visitors.

Where exactly is it please? I've never heard of it, and the map on the website doesn't help me much.

BB, as you head into town on Pethakasem from the north, it's on the right before the Palace about a 100m after that garage that repairs old Land Rovers and it looks like this:

Good evening here from Los Angeles

To truly appreciate Plearnwarn one has to know what was popular or what was part of Life back then that had been slowly but surely dissapearing from Thai Life as Thailand had gone to paces of modernization. If I'm back in Hua Hin again Me and my Aunt are giong to give Y'all a guided Tour through Plearnwarn and show y'all that that this place with littered artifacts from the past that even I can still remember for those things I can't remember my aunt knows all about it!
But if you can't wait just take your beloved missus to take you to Plearnwarn and show you stuff she or her older relative can remember from yesteryears! I'm sure there are tons of artifacts that they can remember and relate to from their own lifes.
Ok this place is littered with Bangkok Sheeky micky (because it has been advertise to them via Hi So Prgramm and also their shows that's why so many High So visit there

It’s one of the most popular/well-known places especially for Thai tourists. I’ve been there so many times to guide my Thai friends who are from Bangkok as well as other provinces. There’s a variety of impressive atmosphere throughout this small market yep...it’s actually not a museum; hence, you can’t expect to see all real old/used stuffs there.

PlearnWan’s slogan is “The Memories of Classic Romance” (see on the Tuk Tuk); therefore, the management appears to build all constructions, products, decoration, interiors, music, food booths, open air cinema etc.. for remembering Thai people’s good old days and their traditional lifestyles. Their market strategies are really successful in my opinion at least for Thai visitors/customers. I've known most of the stuffs they set up because I'm Thai and ve been familiar with those images since I was a child. Moreover, I've known so many of them aren't real old but were made for remembering only.

I agree that it could be much better if they can persuade more foreigners. Let’s see in the future, they might be thinking about building more beer bars, nightlife entertainment and bar girls to motivate some farangs. :naughty:

There’s a small bar on the second level selling “Yadong” (Thai traditional street liquor), Thai beers and stuffs. They also set the live music (Thai 80s’ music) on Friday and Saturday night. I love it 8)

I prefer to visit their only on weekdays because usually, on weekend, there’re too much crowd taking the photos everywhere from the entrance to the end of the gate. Boring ... annoy... :tsk: Today, we have to pay for car parking (not sure about during weekdays). F&B are too expensive. :banghead:

Or professionally marketing it and advertising on the town's busiest farang forum!

Welcome to the board btw.

After months of seeing so many tourists visiting there the wife and I decided to finally take a look one day.

Honestly neither of us could figure out what the attraction was and/or has been......she is Thai, 52 years young and we were married in Bangkok 21 years ago.....so there should obviously be something there for both of us to be interested in......Not.

The most interesting thing was the building/buildings themselves which are done nicely, but the shops seemed to have very little in the way of inventory and there was nothing much to look at or do inside. We still are dumbfounded by the number of people visiting there.

I must admit, I am confused over this thread. What exactly is Plearnwan? I've been assuming that it is a quaint old fashioned restaurant with a few shops and trinkets spread around. However, I'm yet to see a review on the quality of the food.

As I said... It's a Thai thing. Thais (most of them) find it interesting, but I've yet to hear a foreigner say they went there and really enjoyed it. I think 90% of the clientele is from Bangkok.
