As far as I know Monday and Wednesday next week are public/government holidays so I doubt immigration will be open either day.

1 January - New Year's Days
28 February - Makha Bucha Day
6 April - Chakri Day
April 13 - 15 (12-16+17 in some areas) Songkran Days
1 May - Labour Day
5 May - Coronation Day
28 May - Visakha Bucha Day
26 July - Arsaraha Bucha Day
12 August - H.M. The Queen's Birthday
23 October - Chulalongkorn Memorial Day
5 December - H.M. The King's Birthday
10 December - Constitution Day
31 December - New Year's Eve

If public holiday falls at the weekend, the Monday is taken as a public holiday
The wind blows cold on brake and heath
The weeping willows cry
The mountains dark are jagged teeth
Against a leaden sky.

Thank you for the replies. I still would like to know is Hua Hin Immigration open on Monday. According to information I have it is not a government holiday. What I really wanted was maybe someone who was there last week and noticed anything posted regarding closure.According to their website the immigration in Bangkok does not close.
I wanted to book a flight but I will wait until tomorrrow and go to find out.

Immigration is closed today.

Be aware that they WILL fine you if you miss a 90 day report because they are closed.

No idea if they are open. BTW what is this re-entry permit. When do you need them? I go in and out on a multi entry non-b and have done for years with no problems. Prior to that I had multi entry tourist o visas. Not married to a Thai national and under retirement age so does that have anything to do with it?

crazy88,
If you're on a multi-entry Non B or O, you have to exit Thailand every 90 days max. You can exit and re-enter, getting another 90 day permitted to stay stamp, as many times as you want as long as the original visa is still valid.
Re-entry permits are for those who've extended a visa whilst in Thailand or who are on entries they want to keep alive. Most will be on annual extensions based on marriage to a Thai or retirement. If you don't have the re-entry permit and exit, the annual extension and the original visa (which may have expired years before) are lost and you need to start the process again with a Non O or B visa.
The magic number in the country is 90. You've left before 90 days are up and re-entered with another 90. Those on annual extensions have to report their address to Imm every 90 days - no need to leave the country.
Likewise, those on tourist visas get 60 days on arrival. The stay can be extended for a further 30 days. If they want to exit Thailand at any point during the total 90 days, they need a re-entry permit to keep the visa and entry stamp alive (assuming a single entry or the last entry).
buksida,
There should be a 7 day grace period for 90 day reporting - either before or after the set date. If you go over the 7 days, then I suppose you'll not get much sympathy as you've basically had 14 days to report.

"Should" being the operative word there ...

Thanks for the info. Will advise any friends to stick with the multi entry system. Less hoops to jump through and no capital to tie up at the bank. One other question. If you do marry a Thai national and/or reach retirement age is it compulsory to change visa type?

I reached "retirement" age last year and the other half has always been over "retirement" age since we moved here but we are on a normal multi entry O visa and have never had a problem so I am sure the answer to is no it is not compulsory to change you visa type

Correct. No need to extend for a year unless you want to.
However, multi-entry Non O's are becoming increasingly difficult to get in this region.

I've been one day late twice before (last time less than two months ago) because they were closed on the day I was due to report. They did not fine me or hassle me in any way.

Last time the lady at immigration confirmed that you can come 1 week before and after the date. Only if you miss the 1 week after, you will be fined.

If it works for the Red Shirts, maybe it will work for us? Recruit 100-200 like minded farangs residing here legally and take over a street or two. Demand relief from prejudicial, demeaning and downright xenophobic immigration procedures. We would get a lot of Press and I don't think they would shoot us, would they? :run: :D Pete

Went to Immigration today to do my 90-day reporting - 4 days late due to weekend and public holidays - no problem, no fine

And as i couldn't get out of the car easily because of being unable to walk after a recent accident, they took my passport through the car window, told the driver to go down the road and turn, and when we got back the passport was handed back into the car with a smile.

Now that's what I call service!!
