Public displays of affection and the messages behind it

Post by Spitfire »

There are many of these and you are seeing them more frequently as the under 30s here are becoming more and more socially liberated all the time. There are, however two that perplex me and would like to throw them to the floor for an explanation. Firstly, the one when you see Thai mothers with their arm continually draped round the shoulder of the 8-12 year old son or daughter in a shopping mall whilst walking around. Secondly is the Thai boyfriend with his hand firmly gripping the far side shoulder of the girl as if she might run off if he let go. What's that all about? Feel free to mention others and their meaning. Tried to look for some thread that's close but couldn't find anything. Cheers.

Having a 10 year old Thai step-son, I can tell you that you have to keep a firm grip to stop them from buying anything!
