Well Done, a Thailand Vet!

Post by MrPlum »

My poor pampered pet was badly mauled by a pack of dogs last night. She didn't sleep and today she's been in lots of pain with bites all over. So we called in the vet. He was there in 10 minutes and the dog is now soundly asleep.

Not only was it cheap... 250 thb but the Vet wouldn't accept a tip.

I would have waited to make sure she wakes up again before I posted that MrP!
I hope she recovers with no problems.

She's awake now. I just tripped over her on the way to the bathroom and grasped at a lampstand, which struck her across the snout and she leapt so high that she cleared the upstairs bannister. Not sure if she broke all her ribs but I can hear her death rattle somewhere in the garden bushes.

Wonder if I can get a refund from the vet?

:? Was that a joke, or is she suffering?

On the assumption you were joking, can you share the vet's contact details? People often ask for a reliable vet on this Forum.

She's fine BB. :thumb:

Thai Vet's name is 'Billy'. Number is 032513157 or 081 7058350

Not sure if he can speak any Engrish though. He also sells food for pets. I think he has a shop near Pae Mai driving range.

Couldn't think of his name but 'Billy' is the guy that 'services' our 10 dogs.

He's brilliant and not expensive.

He's 'snipped' all our pooches, regularly 'visits with the needle', keeps them all in fine shape.

Glad to hear you were able to find such a good vet locally, MrPlum.

For those who live south of HH, we know a similar vet in Paknampran who also offers a mobile service.

We've just been informed that the new Kasesart University Veterinary Hospital almost opposite Banyan is now in operation.

I'll take a look in report back on here.
Sure hope we don't have to use their professional services for a while, though.

Also waiting to see the answer to your question sandman. I've just achieved the impossible by convincing a local Thai to get his two new puppies spayed as soon as they're old enough, which I think is at 6 months. If anyone knows of a cheap way to get this done, please post the details here. The owner of the puppies is willing to pay, but obviously the cheaper the cost, the more likely it is he'll go through with it.

4 females & 2 males, all done on the premises and fully recovered within 24 hrs
I recall the cost to be around THB700 / pooch

Thanks mate

Ill give Billy a call as it seems the HH Vet Hospital on the Klong road near my place gets somewhat mixed reviews of late.

Absolutely, we wouldn't take our pets anywhere else now!
No more expensive than the local vet but guaranteed professional treatment.
