When back in the UK VS please don't be one of those out and about shopping for Thai beer! Pete
Absolutely not! I'm a real cask ale fan - so I'll hopefully get my fix at the local pub. We'll also have some home-brew I guess. I never drank lager until I came to Thailand, and am quite happy to go back to ale.

He says the new(ish) 7-11 on Soi 94 just past the old Saxaphone Bar and before the old Khun Oy restaurant. He confirms not many places sell it.

[Edit] He's just sent another message:
Last time I was there they didn't have any
It's back in stock again - he;s sat beside me, necking one now.

Snowy Weizen - I finally got two cans to try it. The second one went straight down the sink. It frothed incredibly, definitely looking like snow as it went down the plug hole but I don't think that's the manufacturers intended use.

I tried a can of Snowy last night. Tasted ok; a watered-down Hoegarten clone for 55bt can't be considered bad. I just wish that they'd priced it at 80bt and given it a bit of a fuller flavour - it'd still be a lot cheaper than any of the competition.

I kind of hope it does well; then perhaps Tiger will consider brewing their white beer over here. It amazes me it's taken this long for one of the big breweries to start producing white beer, considering the relative popularity of Hoegarten; despite the very high price.

With regards to the availability of Snowy Weizen, can you buy retail from the Singha distributor? At the Chang distributor out in Mon Mai, they'll sell to anyone as long as you buy by the case.
