According to this website you can now get re-entry permits at Suvarnabhumi again, have to apply on the date of travel. I was aware you could still get them in an emergency, but this seems to be an extension of the service.

Think I will continue to buy 12 month re-entry when I extend.
Re-entry permits available at Suvarnabhumi again?
Re: Re-entry permits available at Suvarnabhumi again?
Can't you also just go to immigration in Hua Hin once you've decided to travel out of the country and buy one there?
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
Re: Re-entry permits available at Suvarnabhumi again?
That's what people have been having to do as the airport stopped issuing them a while ago.
Like governor, I'd still get mine from HH. There would be nothing worse than arriving at the airport to find that the permits weren't being issued meaning that you've have to decide whether to miss your flight or lose your extension.

Under what circumstances and conditions (visa type etc.) do you require this permit? It has been mentioned on several threads in the past but I have never really understood completely when it is required. I ask because friends and family are asking me. The visa types they have are:-
Non-O multi entry
Non-B multi entry
Marriage to Thai national
Retirement

Multi O & B are just that, you can come and go as often as you like during the validity of the visa.
If you have an extension of stay, of a previous visa, based on marriage to a Thai national or retirement then you require a re-entry permit if you leave Thailand and wish to come back. If you fail to obtain this permit then the permission to stay ends when you leave the country and you must go through the process all over again again.
That is a very simplistic answer but, I belive, covers most of it.

That's right, Governor.

If you are leaving the country overland at a legal foreigner border crossing (like to Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, or Myanmar), can you obtain the re-entry permit at the border?

Thanks for the clarification.

Not sure about that, but I think not. You used to be able to, but they stopped giving them at the same time as the airport.hhfarang wrote:If you are leaving the country overland at a legal foreigner border crossing (like to Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, or Myanmar), can you obtain the re-entry permit at the border?
I wouldn't gamble on it. Much better to get at HH.

Re: Re-entry permits available at Suvarnabhumi again?
Just a query really as this came up in conversation earlier. Me and mum have a multi-entry tourist Visa with the first stamp issued for the 4th Jan meaning a Visa run across the boarder before that day? Is this right? I was however told tonight that for a fee I could get my next stamp issued at the new immigration office without the hassle of doing a Visa run at all.... can anyone shed some light on this for me please?
