F.A. Cup 2010-11
Firstly, congratulations for Leeds U for their draw tonight, another frustrating night for us, though.
Looking at tonight's scores, no 0-0's, only three draws and plenty of goals, it still is a very entertaining competition. The first time I followed F.A. cup was the 1970-71 season and guess who were the champions? I was only 11 years old at that time and have been a Gooner since.
Our assistant manager, Pat Rice, was the right back in that game and in the losing team vs Leeds the next season so tonight's match must have brought a lot of memories for him.
Looking forwards to tomorrow's Manure vs Liverpool (good luck for them Scousers). Good upsets tonight already, Notts County, Burton and Stevenage being the front-runners. This is the great thing of the F.A. cup.

Stevenage 3 v Newcastle 1
Great result, but no doubt the Stevenage celebrations will be somewhat marred by the fact that left-back Scott Laird was punched to the ground by (what appears to have been) a Newcastle supporter during a pitch invasion at the end of the game........ I hope the tw@t is found and actually gets what he deserves.

I was at White Hart Lane the night we secured the double by beating Tottenham, a great night.Bamboo Grove wrote:. The first time I followed F.A. cup was the 1970-71 season and guess who were the champions? I was only 11 years old at that time and have been a Gooner since.

just heard the report on the radio which stated they're not sure if it was a newcastle or stevenage fan

why would a stevenage fan punch one of his own?

he deserves to have the book thrown at him, charged with assault, trespass & any other offence they can muster.
then banned from every football ground for life with no parole

Oh well!
I thought Liverpool played quite well having gone down to ten men.

They might have been able to win the match had Gerrard not done that stupid tackle.

Would that tackle have warranted a red card outsie of Old Trafford?Bamboo Grove wrote:They might have been able to win the match had Gerrard not done that stupid tackle.

& would the berbaflop tumble warrant a penalty to an opposing team at OT?Big Boy wrote: Would that tackle have warranted a red card outsie of Old Trafford?

Re: F.A. Cup 2010-11
According to the letter of the law it was a penalty and it was a sending off.
No need for sour grapes.....just accept Liverpool are out.
I thought Liverpool would have been a lot more "up for it" than they were.
They sat back, almost "our Woy" style and made it comfortable for a mediocre United side.
And Torres.....maybe he needs to dye his hair blonde again because with his natural look he's been poor for months now !

I agree, Webb is a fantastic and consistent Referee.Zidane wrote:According to the letter of the law it was a penalty and it was a sending off.

Re: F.A. Cup 2010-11
Well, nobody else has mentioned it so I`ll have to. Arsenal played a brilliant game against a fired up Leeds side. Maybe everything is coming together for them now, I hope. Notice the hope! Arsenal fans, unlike many others, have learnt never to brag about what their team are going to do before actually doing it, or not, if you know what I mean. But please, Arsene, drop Arshavin.
