I enjoyed the Duke over many seasons when he was the Montreal Expos' broadcast colour man. He will always be one of "The Boys of Summer". A great player and well-liked.

Mom was from New Orleans, Dad from Detroit and they never gave me a good answer as to why the were both Brooklyn Dodger fans when they met while stationed in Long Beach, California during WW2. I played the outfield in little league and was disappointed that I couldn't have number 4 like the Duke. Never saw him play, just heard the stories about him and the other Brooklyn Bums.
