Hi i,am a new member here. Could any one give me help or advice in finding employment in or around hh in the marine back ground, at present i work in the merchant navy uk, but looking to relocate to Hua hin in the near future.

There is a list of jobs that are prohibited for Farang to do here in Thailand. Getting a job working in the marine industry is going to be very difficult if not impossible for you as you are going to be competing with people who are working for a very small salary. The only way I can see you getting work in SE Asia is if you are working for a European company that has ships operating here and you have skills or certification that Thai's don't ?

That's a fairly broad definition .....
What type of employment are you looking for specifically?

Hello Capt, your best bet would be looking at Singapore based outfits and just be happy working in SE Asia.

I'm bouncing about off Hong Kong just now, crap weather here, only 2 hours in a plane though......
