Need to reupholster a sofa

Post by dotx »

Any idea of a place that could come to my house to reupholster a sofa? I don't want to have to take the whole thing somewhere. If not, I'll be happy with a sofa cover that fits snuggly (but haven't seen those anywhere).

If you do not have luck with the upholstery I know a lady who will make the cover for you. She is excellent. Will ask my wife tonight for the ladies number and location and post tomorrow, cheers.

Here you go mate.

Her shop is located on Phetkasem rd. near PlearnWan Vintage Village (Fun Fair) about Hun Hin Soi 38 and near Boontaworn Hardware. If we come from our house go to the town at the traffic light her shop is opposite if we come from the town just past the traffic light and Pleanwan a bit you will see her shop name 'Chocktip Curtain' Tel.032 520612 Mobile 081 944 8074

As you come up nhong plub road just before g house hotel there is a guy on your left after the school who does upholster settees and chairs.

Seems to do a good job.

Turn down soi 56 from the traffic lights on the klong road and the last small shop on the right before the train line, there is a thai guy who specializes in leather re-upholstering. His little shack of a shop looks nothing special, but the job he did on our sofa ( using mercedes interior leather from bkk ) was awesome. He came to our house to price up, then back to collect our large sofa too, and dropped it back off. Doesnt rip you off too, we could have used cheaper option for 4000 but quality leather was only 7000bt, and also did the arm rests in our car for free. About 4 days in all. You'll see numerous motorbike seats and such outside that he is constantly working on . Guy with the pony tail .

Hi there. I read your post yesterday. I also want to have my fabric sofa upholstered in leather and went to see the guy today but he was close (Sunday). Can I just ask, that was surely a typo when you say 7000 Baht to do the WHOLE sofa in LEATHER?

Real leather? Not imitation? Can you confirm, thanks :)

Cheers

Hi

I wonder if anyone is able to confirm if the guy in soi 56 is still in business, as I'm thinking our big sofa could do with being reupholstered.

Does anyone know of any others that might do this?

If you go across the railway crossing at Soi 88 in the direction of Petchkasem Road, and turn left towards the station, there's a place a few yards along that road on your right.

We have recently had curtains made and fitted and the people who made them (very well by the way) also mentioned they could reupholster sofas - they are based in HH and can be contacted on 0812715724 - I think their name is something like Batumat
