New Religion - Food For Thought..
'Pastafarian' wins religious freedom right to wear pasta strainer for driving licence
An Austrian has won the right to be photographed wearing a pasta strainer for his driving licence on grounds of religious freedom.
Niko Alm announced the decision on his blog saying that after three years of struggle a psychologist had passed him fit drive and so he could wear the kitchen implement for the official picture.
A self-styled "pastafarian", Mr Alm said he belonged to the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, which lampooned religion. "Today I was able to get my new driving licence, and in it you can clearly see that I'm wearing a colander on my head to demonstrate my allegiance to the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster," Mr Alm wrote in his blog.
"My headwear has now been recognised by the Republic of Austria."
The spaghetti church was founded in 2005 in opposition to pressure on the Kansas school board in the United States to teach the theory of intelligent design in biology class as an alternative to evolution, and since then it has engaged in a light-hearted campaign against religion.
Key to the beliefs of pastafarians is that the world was created by the Flying Spaghetti Monster, but, owing to the monster being inebriated at the time of creation, it has a flawed design.
Excellent!!

Yep.... I like Pastafarianism
Pastafarians dress up like Jack Sparrow pirates and celebrate Talk Like A Pirate Day as a holy day - NB Somalian pirates are not classed as Pastafarian Pirates as they are orrible to people and dress improperly...and dont swig rum and beer. AK47s and PIRs are NOT acceptable replacements for blunderbusses, cutlasses and canon, and shittly little speedboats are not proper pirate sloops.
Pastafarian heaven has 24 hr strip clubs, beer fountains, wet T shirt contests and rock concerts ad infinitum
Pastafarian holy food is Italian
Pastafarians get to heaven by just being as nice as possible to everyone, taking the piss out of other religions, eating Italian food and dressing up as pirates occasionally.
so whats not to like?

That would depend on whether, as a pirate vehicle, they are flying the Jolly Roger or some other pirate type flag.....and having a tax sticker is a no no, unless its forged of course.Do 'Pastafarians' like scooters too?

Re: New Religion - Food For Thought..
Apparently you can be spagnostic as well:
Spagnostic.
One who believes the Flying Spaghetti Monster is the true creator but does not know which Pastafarian denomination is the true church. For example, most Pastafarians believe the FSM sauce is tomato based, where as others believe it is pesto or cream.

Personally, I feel there's room for another religion with the ''Guru'' Sandman at it's head.
Come on SM, let us know how all was really created (and should we just be wearing a single sandle)!!

Documentary Follows Pastafarians as They strain for Recognition
"Some time next year, the European court of human rights will decide on the case of a Dutch woman who feels unfairly treated because her country’s highest court has told her she cannot wear a plastic colander on her head for her ID photo.
It may combine Mienke de Wilde’s plea with that of an Austrian former MP, Niko Alm, who proudly wears the offending kitchen utensil on his official documents but now insists his country recognise Pastafarianism – the faith both follow – as a religion.
Watching the pair closely is Mike Arthur, an independent American film-maker whose smart, funny but above all thought-provoking documentary, I, Pastafari, about the world’s fastest-growing faith premieres in the US in October.
All in all, it is shaping up to be quite a big few months for the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, whose believers wear strainers on their heads in homage to their deity, strive to be nice to pretty much everyone, and conclude their prayers with “r’amen” rather than “amen”.
It sounds, of course, like a joke. On one level, it is. But for Arthur, who has spent three years working on his film, and for many Pastafarians who believe their faith embodies some profound – and profoundly important – principles, it is a lot more."

The Pasta Lord's Prayer
Our pasta, who art in a colander, draining be your noodles.
Thy noodle come, Thy sauce be yum, on top some grated Parmesan.
Give us this day our garlic bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trample on our lawns.
And lead us not into vegetarianism, but deliver us some pizza, for thine is the meatball, the noodle, and the sauce, forever and ever.
R'Amen.
