Fringe Festival 2011/12 @ Vic Hua Hin

Post by buksida »

After last year's joint staging in Bangkok and Hua Hin, the beach resort Vic Hua Hin will be the sole venue to host the "Fringe Festival 2011/12", set to run on selected Saturdays, starting this week until February 25, 2012.

Held with the support of the Office of Contemporary Arts and Culture, the festival will feature artists and performers from all over the world in a unique programme that will have something for everyone's taste.

The festival will kick off with the Japanese Contemporary Dance Theatre's rendition of Three Sisters by Pappa Tarahumara, which revisits Anton Chekov's literary classic set in rural Japan during the 1960s. The play will be performed this Saturday at 7:30pm.

The programme line-up comprises:

- Phra Lor by Patravadi Theatre on Nov 19 at 7:30pm and Nov 20 at 6pm.

- Entre-mains, Haiku and Morphoses, a three-piece show by the Urban Bones Dance Company from Bangkok on Dec 3 at 7:30pm.

- "X-Mas Eve" party featuring Christmas songs, turkey and student performances on Dec 24 at 6pm.

- Three object theatre pieces by Yael Rasooly and the Golden Delicious Theatre from Jerusalem, Israel on Jan 21, 2012 at 7:30pm.

- Taste of Curry by B-Floor Group from Thailand on Feb 4, 2012 at 7:30pm.

- Space, a solo performance by actor, writer, musician and video editor Timothy Mann on Feb 11, 2012 at 7:30pm.

- Pichet Klunchun and Myself performed by French artist Jerome Bel and Thai dancer Pichet Klunchun on Feb 25, 2012 at 7:30pm.

Vic Hua Hin is located on Soi Mooban Huana, Nongkea, Prachuap Khiri Khan. Tickets to each show cost 500, 700 and 900 baht (50% discount for students) and free admission for the X-Mas Eve event only.
