Done Heavens Kitchen this afternoon, had the the special which was Spaghetti Bolognaise.
Bloody good sauce and well cooked pasta :thumb:, while i was eating the owner and chef came out to say hello, nice chap from Germany called Peter, he has lived in Asia for 25 years, I think he said 14 years in Thailand.
The food was very nice and well presented and a nice sized portion, price 199 baht, fine by me for quality food.
I will be going back!

I don't want to be churlish, but spaghetti bolognaise is hardly the most challenging or original dish for the 'special'!
Can you give us an idea of the range of international options, JW?

A good Spag Bol is good, how many disappointing ones have you had???
All sorts of stuff on the menu, German style, Pizza, Salads, some nice sounding fish dishes - its a comprehensive menu. Kitchen is open and looked clean and tidy, I think Peter knows his stuff!

JW, you said afternoon.... my usual question as I eat my biggest meal in the middle of the day and try to stay home and out of trouble after dark. :D Are they open for lunch or was that late afternoon?
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

I was there around 3.30pm, not sure what time they open but here is the number - 032513805.

If you want a freshly cooked Pork knuckle you can order the day before and Peter will prepare, I am definitely gonna try that one soon!

Cheers,

JW

Challenging or original is good if one is a known chef with a following or is in a locale where restaurants innovate or die. A standard dish will get people in the door. A well done version will motivate those who can appreciate the difference to come back.

A restaurant 'special' may have different meanings in different cultures. Where I come from it's usually something not on the regular menu or a dish that is priced lower than usual.
