Yeah, Norseman. Thought about frying him up for breakfast, but I'd just eaten my Wheatabix, it was time to go, and, Mr.VS was revving up the car engine, etc., etc.

Spending much of his childhood outdoors with Dr Savage-Rumbaugh, Kanzi showed interest in the campfires she made to cook food. "At age five he began making small piles of sticks and tried to light them," she added. "I had to keep a close eye on him, but I allowed it because he was clearly interested in practising it. His demeanour when he focused on making fire was just like when he watched the movie. He seemed engrossed in it and it appeared that he associated making fires with watching the film."

I don't think I'll invite him in Siani. I prefer furry, waggy tailed pets.

We do, however, enjoy the variety of birds and reptiles that wander into our garden. We're lucky enough to live on the outskirts of a large city, with all its amenities, but are surrounded by wonderful nature.

This fella was watching me while on was on the computer. He's just outside the office window.

This silly dog decided to see him off the premises.

He lost his collar and ended up showering anything and everything with his bleeding ear.

This little sweety, a fantail, enjoys having an evening splash around in the bird bath. We've put the bath just outside the office window and they're totally oblivious to us watching them. There's usually a queue of birds waiting for their evening shower.

We have the occasional snake slithering, and turtle toddling around the place, which amuses the dogs and doesn't bother us. My favourite 'visitor' has to be the lovely fireflies. Haven't managed to capture one on film yet as they're rare visitors and switch off their 'fire' at the mention of a camera.

The nature here is so diverse, and so different from the UK, it's a constant source of pleasure for Mr.VS and me.

The reptiles are not my best buddies, I am afraid of snakes But would never drive them away. Just avoid them. Hope the lovely dog was not too badly hurt, he managed to give a little smile for the picture Lovely teeth! A cheeky grin
Last month here in Poole we had a lot of visitors...toads...baby ones, quite sweet really. When I live in Australia we had cane toads, much bigger and not so pleasant

Used to go out on a gin palace on lake Kariba when working in Zimbabwe

On the back was a metal caged pool immersed in the lake. You could swim in the cage holding a G&T and feed scraps to the following crocs. Good job Jaws wasn't about
