Split peas - yellow and/or green

Post by Takiap »

Hi all, and my apologies if this has been asked before, but does anyone know where I can buy split peas..........yellow and/or green?

I read that they are offering split pea soup at Naab Thong restaurant, and I realized just how long it's been since I last made a pot of it myself - about ten years ago! Saying that, I have often wanted to because I can go through gallons of it, but I've never seen split peas for sale here.

Cheers in advance for any pointers.

I saw the split yellow peas at the old shopping mall in the centre of town recently - Vanna Pranee.
Unless they've changed the position of them, go to your right and the far wall as you get to the foodie stuff from the tills and just follow that wall shelf down. You'll come across them.

Villa Market always has green split peas
Why is it called 'after dark' when it really is 'after light'?

Makro Hua Hin and Villa Market, though today only Makro had both green and yellow, Villa only green.

500g McGarrets 46 baht in both places.

Thanks guys. I went and got some yesterday and made a big pot of soup. Since everyone is away visiting family, I have it all to myself. :thumb:

Will look at Makro again since it's just down the roads from our place, but I couldn't find any there the last time I looked, and the staff didn't really know what I was taking about.

BTW......do these places sell lentils as well? :thumb:

Hi Takiab,

It's next to the bakery/bread section on the side furthest away from the main entrance.
There are a couple of aisles there with nuts, etc. and general items for baking cakes etc.
There is one section there displaying McGarrets products and the split peas are there - at least they were yesterday.
