euro championship tv in bars

Post by ahandpatsy »

Arriving in Hua Hin in a few weeks time.

I was wondering if anywhere would be showing the 2nd and 3rd England matches, given that it will be 2:45 am kick off, and I can't think of any of the Bintabaht bars that would do this.

Will my cable tv at Jings where I am staying have it on !?

Cheers

Well, one obvious place to ask would be Jings, where you will be staying. I belive they have a telephone and an email address.

Yes, I know I could talk to Jing.

I was hoping that I wouldn't have to ask him about specific football matches 2 weeks in advance, so that he may have to scour tv schedules in the event of helping out his tourist guests yet again.

I had really thought that HHAD and or a previous guest at Jings may have been able to help.

Seems that you have to get thru the smart arse barrier before you get a reasonable answer on here sometimes, shame.

I believe you can only watch the matches via a system called 'GMM Grammy', which I'd never urd ov until a couple of nights ago. Mates' bar Sukys2 in Bintabaht has it... but I think you got the match times mixed up there, thought our late games k.o. around midnight!?... or have I got it mixed up :?

If you're stuck for somewhere to watch the games as doubt many bars will be installing another system, PM me nearer the day.

Sweden and Ukraine are 7.45 KO over here.

I did screw up on the hours (used 7 rather than 6)

So kick off should be 1:45 am. Still pretty late for bars to be showing ??

My experience over many years is to befriend a bar, and they will show it with the shutters half down. A good bunch of football supporters will be spending money - profits.

So we're through to the semi-finals.

Any word where to see them?

My antenna doesn't get Channel 3, unfortunately.

If you get stuck you can always stream through www.vipbox.tv/ (thanks for that by the way Terry... I think it was you anyways) Before I got me dreambox I would stream the premier league games on this but it would be hit and miss. For the Euros, it has been perfect. Not a single stall throughout the games for me. I didn't have any sound yesterday though so I just stuck the radio on alongside it.
