I want to go from Kha Lak to Hua Hin. My initial idea was to take a taxi to HKT, fly to Bangkok and take a taxi to Hua Hin. But then I was thinking, there must be another way. By train or by bus? Any ideas on that?
Thanks a lot!
Kho Lak to Hua Hin - how do I do that?
Re: Kho Lak to Hua Hin - how do I do that?
I took a VIP bus a number of years ago. It was comfortable and we stopped off somewhere for lunch which was very good.
Unfortunately, I can't remember the cost or journey time. I'll take a stab at around 9-10 hours and 600 THB. The bus originated in Phuket. You'll be able to book one from a travel agent.
There aren't any trains on that side of Thailand, so road or air are your options.

The VIP bus can be a bit of a hit or miss affair if you don't book your seats .The motorcycle hire /tourist office south of the supermarket in Khao Lak on Phetkasem road can book for you.Pick up is outside the supermarket . You get coupons for your lunch at Takua Pa , but beware as the place is not the most of hygienic eateries around.
Last trip the bus went past H.H via the bypass so we had to get off and catch one of the local rattlers into town.
Another option is to get one of the mini buses but be prepared for one hell of a trip up.We have also come up by local taxi B2500 to Bang Saphan for a nice stop-over and taken the sprinter train on up to H.H the rest of the way.

Complexity is so simply overrated
