most of the red wine served in bars around town comes out of boxes. I was horrified at first, but it is really not too bad for cheap shit wine. It is served cold so what difference does it make? :)
I really like this forum because there are no personal attacks. All the members contribute in a positive way to my posts.

You can get quite good Australian wines in boxes of three liters.

I've probably tried them all and none measure up what I was used to for 5 or 6 dollars a bottle in California, but the good news is that if you drink them long enough your taste adjusts so that they aren't too bad. I now drink the cheapest you can get, Mont Clair in a 5 liter box for 900 baht and it's ok since I got used to it. I have actually begun to like the white and tolerate the red at room temp very well.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

That's what you get by the glass in most restaurants here, except for the fancy higher priced places.

I noticed 10 litre boxes of wine in Tesco the other day for 1,4** Baht. No idea of name or quality though, and as a non-drinker, I'm not likely to find out.

10 litre boxes? That would be difficult for the average person to carry to the checkout stand!

Tesco…….in any UK high street!

In Thailand, you’ll struggle to find anything decent at that price

Talking of Tesco...

Up until about 3 months ago they had a Tesco's Finest Carmenere at 449

And I promise you it was more than decent

Sadly, it appears that it is longer on the stock list

I keep asking and they keep saying "No have Mister! ''

There must be another cheeky wee number out there....

That could be because Tesco/lotus is now just lotus (part of cp group - 7/11 etc) and they don't stock tesco own brand any more (earlier on this year they had a big sell off off Tesco label products at really good prices).

Wine Pro opposite HH hospital has a good selection especially from Argentina and Chile, but none of it is cheap and you have to buy six bottles to avoid the tax ... hic ...

This type of thing always makes me smile when people insist we don't pay any taxes in Thailand.

Comparing wine prices in Thailand to anywhere else in the world will make you cry. So much for "free trade agreements". :banghead:
