@home Cafe & Bistro

Post by bapak »

Yet another one..

Visited @home Cafe & Bistro this evening. Located off Canal Road.. Turn up Samor Prong and it is about 100 metres on right past 711.

They buy their Bratwurst sausages from Bier Otto in Bangkok. I had the Veal sausage. Bit of a change to find veal... Enjoyable.. To top it off I had cheesecake made by the owner. Best I have had in quiet a while. Will definitely go again.

I just noticed several varieties Bei Otto packaged sausages in the Villa Market cooler a few days ago. I always look to see what is in that section and never noticed them before so Bei Otto may have just started selling their meats outside Bangkok. Their German restaurant is on Sukhumvit Soi 20 and is very good.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

You're absolutely right with that statement. The last time I had Veal was when I was still in SA. Looked for it in the UK but was told it's banned????

The problem here in Hua-Hin, at least for me, is that I just cannot keep up with the number of restaurants opening up. The veal is really tempting though. :cheers:

Veal isn't banned in the UK! Even Sainsbury's stock it.

Could have been during the Mad Cow crisis. A lot of beef products were banned then.

Villa Market have been stocking the brand for years. Favorite of mine are the German meat balls, two sizes. Great spicey flavour, just hope I havn't shot myself in the foot with recommending them!!!

Lot of talk about Veal. Is it real veal though?

My experience is that it is pork as opposed to young fattened calf

I had a very good friend in South Africa who was a hugely successful cattle rancher, and he always swore to me that he could serve up pork and I would not know the difference between it and veal., and he was being serious.
