Hi all.
A friend of me from UK brought his mom to HH so she could stay closer to him. He bought her a house and she enjoy living here in the sun.
The problem is that she's lonely and would like some company.
Do you guys know if there exists some sort of British Club or a place where elderly people can meet for a cup of tea and enjoy themselves?
She's in her 70'.
As long as people speak english they don't have to be British, but elderly.
Any suggestions?
British Club?
British Club?
I intend to live forever - so far so good.

As far as I know there isn't anything like this,(although I believe there is a Bridge Club which might be the same 'target audience') and in fact i'm not even sure you can get a decent cup of tea anywhere! However I imagine this lady is reasonably adventurous for her age as she has come here so why not suggest to her that she either starts something herself, or approaches a suitable establishment with the idea? I'm sure it would get a free plug on here (not an ad, just a thread) and in the Observer.
Thank you Wanderlust for anwering.
Same thanks goes to Buksida and JW, (the only people I met in person via this board), who also answered me in private.
I'm not a tea drinker myself, so I know nothing about that, but I still think that there should be some sort of meeting point in HH where we all could meet in a relaxed atmosphere.
Not like a bar, but some sort of a good english club with newspapers, etc.
A place where you could put a face to a person and say: hello dr. monsta, hi Guess - farang - lomu - chas - shadow - wanderlust and all you other guys.
That would be nice.
As for the elderly question, I'll pass on any info to this lovely old lady, so keep om writing.
