New pages/sections on the website

Post by Lev »

We've recently added a new beach information page to the main website and were wondering what other pages we could do.

We are looking to expand the main website a little more so any suggestions on new pages and sections would be appreciated.

We already have info on accommodation, property, beaches, nightlife, events and attractions.

Also if anybody wishes to become a content provider of HHAD we are open to suggestions.

How about absolute trash, where you'll dump everything not appropriate on other pages.

Any reader of "Absolut Trash" would enter it at his peril.

How about "commonly asked questions"? With a link to the forum or sponsors - whatever - if further info needed.

Reference has been made to those who join for just one or two questions but never appear again and the repitition of their questions - I was guilty myself.

Not sure if this fits in with aim of the forum?

Sponsors might like it?

What about a page or space for the most common Foreign Exchange Rates?
Daily automatic or semi-automatic updated via Bank of Thailand.
I intend to live forever - so far so good.

If you can find one for us that fits our style and will go down the righthand side of the forum (below active topics) we'd be happy to add it.

Trouble with that idea farang is that it would just be the two of us communicating withy each other unless of course is was kept so that fifty postings of complete trash had to be made on the main forum to get entry.

Actually, as jokey as it first seems, I kind of like this idea!!! But not just for the UK, to fit all of the HH community.

I'll be coming over sometime soon - seems forever - and in 13 months time or so, I hope to make it permanent. I'd be happy to bring some much needed goodies with me, be it darts, books, DVD's, store cupboard foody things, cookwear, or even a real Chelsea shirt! Had to take one of those to Oz last April!

And in return, it would be nice to think I could benefit in the same way in due course.

I think its a great way of getting those little things you can't get in LOS, plus the meeting & greeting and socialising and almost creating a "HH club."

Just a thought to add to Guess's?

Maybe some enterprising bar owner could be the centre of this?

Maybe one already is?

If this is so naff, I apologise!

Its an idea at least. Maybe we could set a new forum up here or expand the existing white board section to incorporate it.

There are plenty of Thai radio websites, out there, just Google them!

I just happened to stop by at the Beach Bar tonight shortly after some A-hole named Soros or Silos posted a link to some Indian smut site. It's disappeared so I guess the Mods caught it , and hopefully banned him.

My suggestion would be:

1) My assumption is that non-registered users can only read and not post...good.

2) Any registered user who posts within the first 30 days of membership, his/her post are put into a special section...maybe named "Probation" or "Holding Pen" etc. If he/she posts, and it is a valid post, the Mods move it to the appropriate section. If he/she does not post within those 30 days, banned, as pretty obvious why they may have joined in the first place? Even if a valid post, the person stays in the "special" section for the full first 30 days.

Maybe too tough and conservative...just my thoughts. Pete

Some good suggestions there Pete. We seem to have been overrun by these spamming scumbags lately. Some even go through all the effort of registering again after they have already been banned.

We also get a fair few who register and their first action is to email or PM me to get into the private area .... I mean why bother ??

I'll get the gurus to have a look into the technical capabilities of the forum software.

Can't emails be traced by IP addresses? I'm ignorant on this but I know many governments do it to find hackers? If so, a person's IP should be recordable and therefore cannot register as a member again?

A segregated area for new members I would think makes life much easier for the mods. Log in and go to one place rather than scanning for all new posts since their last visit.

If the private area is becoming a burden and a possible liability given Toxin's crusade on websites...who needs it? Do those who only go there and not contribute elsewhere really care about Thailand, HH or anything here (including HHAD commercial interests) except to get their rocks off?

Anyway, I'm a victim of too much green rice tonight (Heineken). Cheers. Pete
