Land crossings into Thailand get 30 days stay again

Post by buksida »

This has been posted on another forum with no references or links so I cant verify its authenticity:

Land crossings get 30 days again, instead of 15 (for G7 countries)

Royal Thai Immigration Bureau has confirmed to Thaivisa that holders of passports of UK, USA, Japan, Germany, France, Canada and Italy are since November 1, 2013 given 30 days at land borders instead of previously only 15 days.

That's interesting if it's true, it's not something I did often but a couple of times in the past it turned out to be a handy way of extending a visit when work changed and I hadn't planned a longer stay.

I think it is the case although there's nothing in official directives yet. People have reported getting the 30 days at various land/sea border crossing points.

I just went on a visa run in Cambodia last weekend, upon my return to Thailand I was given a 30 day visa. So, it's definitely been changed.

Another plus one for Malaysia - 90 days on arrival here.

Just don't take any Malaysian Air international flights...
