100 Baht

Post by Handsome Buddha »

Everywhere I went in HH seemed to be 100 Baht. Most trips were fairly short runs & I thought the price was fair enough.
However, while in Bangkok at the end of my holday I was driven around for the best part of an hour at the total cost of just 140 Baht!
Just how far can you go on 100 Baht?

To answer this precisly is almost impossible,
BUT the farthest in terms of Public Transportation is undoubtably the train. I took a trip from Sungai Koluk to Chumpon and 3rd class was about 130 baht.

It is about the same price by bus from Bangkok to Kamphaeng Phet - a 6 to 7 hour journey!

The problem is that they charge you at least 100-150 baht to go anywhere in Hua Hin with cars-good luck in the jungle.
I can drive you for 25 baht on my bicycle but I,m overbooked....by Thais

Seem to remember there was some "official" setting of prices earlier this year - it was reported in (I think) the February issue of the Observer.
