Internships / Jobs

Post by Wallflower27 »

Hi,

I'm Adam and I've been living in Hua Hin for about a year and a half. I'm currently going to Webster University in Cha-am, but I will be off for the summer. For the next 3 months I'll be available everyday, and I'm interested in any job or internship opportunities being offered around Hua Hin. If anyone knows of any place that needs some help I would appreciate the information.

I want to gain some experience and connections as I ultimately want to work in Thailand. I was in the United States Navy for 5 years prior to becoming a student, so I'm disciplined and reliable, and I'm willing to give all my efforts working in any position that could allow me to network more in Thailand. Please feel free to contact me at amdallmann0502@gmail.com or PM me on here. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
Adam

don't forget your work permit as it is illiegal to work without one. hate to see you tossed out of Thailand for doing odd jobs here and there. do you have a student visa?
I really like this forum because there are no personal attacks. All the members contribute in a positive way to my posts.

Dude, there is a very long list of things you legally can't do as they are reserved for Thai nationals (from hairdressing to law practice) and the screw seems to be slowly tightening on many things these days all the time for foreigners. Always a new hoop to jump through.

Essentually, they [the authorities] don't want you to work here at all and have configured everything about the law to make things as hard as possible for you with every hurdle that can be put in your way....is. An they will deport you at a drop-of-the-hat for violations now.

You are welcome to study, teach, retire, be a tourist and spend then piss-off, open a business via proxy [wife etc] or work for a multinational or a big enough Thai comapany that needs a foreigner for some reason. But they all have their headaches and the bureaucracy et al can be a serious pain in the ass.

Anthing other than the above endeavours mentioned then you start getting onto moving ground. Yes, there are grey areas like earning money from the net etc.

I think you are probably being optimistic on this front and you can easily be snitched in a heartbeat for something [other than the above options] that is borderline.

Getting to the point where you can't fart without a work permit now.

However, with the way things are at the moment, then a 180 degree turn on anything at an afternoons notice is possible all the time.

We are only tolerated and smiled at because of the money benefits and language factor (for those in education) as we need to take nothing from them, only give. Doesn't take a genius to figure out the general attitude around this part of the world to those foreigners that possess neither of the aforementioned requirements or are unskilled migrants.

It's still a good deal here but nowhere near as much so as 10-15 years ago.
