After many many years, i wil be returning to thailand, this time merely as a tourist and with little children myself... and i do have some questions:
1.) is there still this place somewhere near cha am, where one can watch monkeys fetching coconots from the trees?
2.) is there an organic-food shop in hua hin? or a supermarket selling organic stuff (preferably spelt-flour???/ fruits and veggies from asoke-farms)
3.) are there as many jeans-shops in hua hin as in bangkok, selling preferably original jeans, like diesel, esprit , replay and the like, for kids & adults??? (might there even be an esprit-shop?)
4.) anybody can give an indication of the price of original ray ban glasses? converse shoes (for kids & adults)
5.) is there a webcam in cha am/ hua hin? (merely found a webcam on the roof a this italian guy in hua hin?)
6.) anybody has an idea how good the organic restaurant in the cha am regent hotel is?
i know, i might find out the anwers to all these questions myself sooner or later, once we are there, but i am very curiuous and would lbe very happy to hear from huahin-expats, maybe from other moms (this adds to the pre-holiday-fun)
thanks & cheers

many questions...
Since nobody else has I'll have a stab at answering these:
1) Not familiar with this place but there are plenty of monkeys at Khao Takiab.
2) Yes, Golden Place on Petchkasem road and there is a place near Ayutthaya bank apparently. The local markets are pretty organic too!
3) Thailand is not really the place to buy originals as they're just as expensive as back home. There are a couple of small outlets but this kind of shopping is best done in Bangkok.
4) No idea but as said above probably no cheaper than the west.
5) Internet connections in Hua Hin are very slow but some of the bigger cafes may have a webcam.
6) No idea, never eaten there.
I know these answers probably don't help much but there were quite strange questions!

thank you for your anwer! i know these questions might seem strange
...
with regard to the monkeys: have been there years ago, think in the early 90ties, and one could watch monkeys getting coconuts out of palm trees by turning them around, the coconuts would drop with a huge as you can imagine...
with webcam, i mean a cam where one can see hua hin of cha am online, skyline or sea or something like that... there are several on koh samui i believe and it might be interesting to see how the weather is these days....
is it very hot and humid right now with many rainshowers????
anyway, looking forward to coming to thailand soon and thanks again!
cheers
