Kriminal record

Post by scorpiolady »

I want to ask a odd question. In my work I get contact with people with a kriminal record. Now I have heard that one of the inmates says he is going to move to Thailand when his out of jail. I want to know if they dont check things like that when you want to imigrate to Thai? Luckily his not going to Hua Hin.

I think there are certain types of visa that, when applying for, require a "note of good conduct" from the applicant's home country/Embassy.
I would have thought that if a miscreant had served his/her time, then their home country wouldn't have a problem.
The onus is on the home country, not the host country.
That's my understanding of things and obviously serious offences are not covered by the above.

There is no disputing the importance of conducting background checks in today’s society. The benefits of comprehensive background checks are felt not only by business owners but by the individual customer. From CEO's to housewives more and more people are beginning to view background checks as a pro-active risk management strategy. The question many are asking is, “can I afford not to conduct a background check?â€
