Absolut Vodka

Post by THAI ROB »

I am a Vodka drinker which started from when i became able to drink only the occasional beer due to developing an intolerance. Is in my opinion the greatest vodka Absolut, available in any Hua Hin bars? In my previous visits to Thailand the vodkas available have been of a mixed quality with some dodgy house vodkas. Hoping to celebrate my first visit to Hua Hin with decent Vodkas in the evenings.

I tHink that Crawfords has Absolute, not many others. Your right about some of the cheap ones, like drinking paint stripper!

That reminds me of our traditional Fantasy Premier League vodka night of which I can hardly recall anything.

Absolute is available if quite a few bars look for the ones that cater for a larger audience and you'll be OK. Some places have three or four vodkas and the same for gin. whisky is probably harder to find in the high end, but a couple of place have a good range single and blended malts plus a couple of bourbons.

Another flashback. When I was in Chiang Mai a few years ago, I and couple of friends went to a bar and ordered Bloody Mary. The waitress couldn't understand the order and after a third repetition of the order her face went bright and she said: "Oh her, no she left the bar long time ago." So we had no other choice but to leave to bar as well as the lady wasn't there any more. Or could it be that we couldn't help but laugh.

Recipe for Bloody Ceasar

Post by flyboy »

The recipe above is close but no cigar! The recipe consists of:

In a tall glass combine:

One shot vodka
Tobassco sauce to taste, (usually 1 or 2 dahes)
Worcestershire sauce to taste ( usually 2 to 4 dashes)
salt & pepper
5 to 10 ml lemon juice
Ice cubes
Fill glass with Clamato Juice (Tomato/clam juice mixture)
Add celery stalk (Stir stick)

If you wish you can rim the glass with celery salt.

Experiment with the ingredients. Adjust the Tobassco and Worcester sauce to get the hot/spicy mixture you like best. Adjust vodka quantity to suit. "Mott's" in my opinion makes the best Clamato Juice Mixer.

Also consider a" Virgin Ceasar" for your non-drinking friends by leaving out the Vodka.

Enjoy
