Down the memory lane
There was a suggestion for a special sectin for young people. I'm not going to suggest a new section, this is just a new thread for us old farts.
Sometimes you hear a song or see a movie etc that brings back memories. This happened to me yesterday. I was in a birthday party and then came the song "Do The Hustle." Immediately my memories went back to summer -75 when I was 15 and was studying in Brighton. This used to be a top song at that time and I could see us entering a disco called "Revolution" on the beach road. Those were the days Does this happen to anybody else?

Definitely.
The smell of feshly mown grass brings back memories of summer in England, golf courses, 17/18 years old and starting to travel the world. Great times.
Whatever happened to the travelling?
Oh yes and Pink Floyd, The Who, The Clash, Sex Pistols etc etc.
1976/7 were good years.
You've got me feeling nostalgic and old now, BG.

Sounds more like the early stage of Alzheimer's disease to me. My Grandmother used to ramble on in great detail about her schooldays but could never remember what she had done yesterday, during the early stages of the disease.lomuamart wrote:Definitely.

I took her home to my place
Watching every move on her face
She said: "Look, what's your game, baby
Are you tryin' to put put me shame"
I said: "Slow, don't go so fast
Don't you think that love can last"
She said: "Love, Lord above, eh
Now you're tryin' to trick me in love", ow
All right now, baby it'sa all right now
All right now, baby it's a all right now!
Now that bring backs memories!

Talkin' of nostalgia - I'm going to see the Eagles tonight at the Millenium Stadium. I'm not sure if it will remind me of summers of my yoof or just listening to a band in LoS!
"It anudder tek-eel-a sun-lye....."
"De'pelado... "
"Lipe in da fat lay...."
Judging from the marketing pics, Joe Walsh now plays his guitar horizontally on top of his gut, in the same way that Dave Gilmour does!

Yes, freshly mowed grass for sure. My Brit neighbor here in Naklua actually keeps a nice lawn and it does smell great when he mows it. Won't even let his wife's dog walk on it though and the poor thing has to go out into the soi to p & c ...as it gets attacked by the mangy soi dogs
I have to add in some Americana...the smell of hot dogs and saurkraut coming off a vending cart in New York City. The taste of hot pretzels with mustard, a good snow fall on Christmas Eve with vendors selling hot chestnuts...so many others. Good memories all. Pete

If they do Hotel California it will certainly remind you of a corner bar in Patpong with live band. I have heard that the Eagles can sing it in Thai now.

I am glad to see the Millenium Stadiun is being put to use since they stopped hosting football matches there.
