Sea Pines Golf

Post by daktari »

Anyone has experience with priority for military personnel there? I have seen online notion that priority is given to. military and may bump you from your spot. I don't mind to slide back, unless there is large group of people and happens often. any experience?

Played there loads and never experienced it. They do sometimes let 5 and 6 balls play so that makes things a bit slow. It's a good track. Last 4 or 5 holes are tough

Yes it does happen, but it happens at many many other courses too.

Yes it happens. But no problem because both the starter and caddies are helpful, just start at another hole.
Only a few days in high season and official Thai holiday days will this affect you.

Anybody who has played Sea Pines lately, that can give a review of the current condition of the course?

Seapines Golf is now under the management of the owners of Lakeview (Chang). General maintenance and greens are much improved. More maintenance staff are in evidence throughout the day. Having said all that, just at the moment the fairways are very soggy but that is the case with most courses due to the large amount of rain in the last couple of weeks.

Good promotion at present Mon to Thurs Green Fee B900, B500 if you are local Thai.

i have played Sea Pines on and off for 8 years but not for 3 years.Always enjoyed it

i played yesterday, greens and were tees average, bunkers were poor and the fairways were a total disgrace!

gf 500(9 holes) caddie 200

in truth I wouldnt go back if it were half that price but thats me. But its perfectly ok for the beginner/casual golfer

Sorry thecolonel but I have to disagree.
Played yesterday morning. The fairways where in good condition. Tees good condition. The greens receptive if a little slow, bunkers could benefit from more sand.
Caddies where very knowledgeable, and communitive.
The promotion they have now 3000 Bhat for a month plus caddie fee is unbeatable.
I've been playing for over 30 years, single figure handicap so no beginner.
Played with two more players who both enjoyed the course.

Your same views were also expressed to me by another local single figure golfer that the course is in good condition and the promotion is great value.

Seapines can be an unforgiving course that is more suited to low handicappers than high. The wind can make it even more tricky and some of the fairways are overwatered.

But, the greens are currently in better condition than they have been for years. I like the place, especially at 500 baht :-)

Certainly at a more realistic price.
Hua Hin is hugely overpriced for golf in general.
Hopefully a lot of 'regulars' will play there regularly.
If the other courses take note (no laughing), maybe they'll take a reality pill too. 🤞
