Google Earth Thailand Street Views

Post by StevePIraq »

I used to be able to use Street View on Google Earth, however now when looking in Thailand it does not work, anyone else have this problem and a fix or has it been disabled for Ting Tong Land?

Still works for me - I've just walked up my Soi and my car is parked outside my house.

[Edit] Mine is Google Earth Pro - don't know if that makes a difference.

Works fine for me too. Try deleting in and re-downloading it.

The problem in deleting and reloading is where are My Places saved on my computer, I can't find a location and I can't afford to lose all the work I have saved.

Weird thing is Street View works for other countries but not Thailand. I'm using Pro

Places are saved to your Google account, not a specific computer. Google accounts store everything in the cloud so logging out and in again should restore everything you have saved with Google.

That may not be correct.
Google Earth Help.
You can move locations you've saved in Google Earth to a different computer. Saved locations are called placemarks, and they're automatically saved to your computer.

This is for Windows 7/Vista, I am using Windows 10 and the steps do not work, even a search does not find a myplaces or kml file.

So frustrating

Well if you hadn't moved them to your computer and left them in the cloud it would all still be there!

If other places work OK could it be a caching problem? Have you tried Help > Launch Repair Tool > Clear disk cache?

Here's the answer Myplaces is saved on the computer not the Cloud

In Windows 10, open File Explorer. Go to the View tab in the ribbon. On the right check 'Hidden Items'. Then navigate to C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Google\GoogleEarth. Replace username with your name in your Windows profile.

You should find myplaces.kml and myplaces.backup.kml and maybe others.

It appears it is KML not KMZ.

Lo and behold Street View works again
